I am due to have an operation on my foot at the end of Sept and I will be laid off for 6-8 weeks. My big fear is that even with watching what I eat I may gain weight due to being immobile.

Any suggestions of what I can do during this period? any website recommendations?

Has anyone used Toning Tables? Do they actually work?

Hi, I've just done a Google search for exercise after foot operation and loads of really good sites come up.

One site called net doctor I think, you can ask them a question and the medical team replies, might be worth you doing a search.

Good luck, hope the op goes well x

Once your wounds healed then maybe swimming? And you can still do crunches and upper body work I guess? Ask your surgeon :) and goooooogle!!

That net doctor, I sent them a question and they never answered it, but kept sending me tons of emails that were unrelated, until I insubscribed. As for exercise, you should be able to do floor work ok, once you're lying down, and your arms can be just as effective as using your legs to raise the heartate, either using weights or just varied arm raises and swings. Also you could do leg/knee lifts either sitting or lying down, once you keep the affected foot still.
