Lifting the Carb Cloud

I did the first week of LL earlier in the year and lost 13lbs. Left for reasons I won't bore you with, knowing I'd return later in the year to give it another go. I'm now keeping the promise I made to myself to make a difference to my body and health by the end of 2007 and am on day 2 of round 2!

Even by just the second day I am starting to experience the best part that I remembered from my first week 6 months ago. It feels like I'm slowly emerging from a semi-drugged state and I know it's the lifting of the carbohydrate cloud that I've allowed to fog my brain for so long.

Mu usual day is drag myself out of bed, go to work, battle the traffic home, slump in front of the TV, snack all night on and off. Today I am at home on a day's holiday and have just been in the shower. Rather than thinking along the lines of what video can I watch, what can I make for lunch - I'm finding myself thinking along altogether more active lines. Should I take the dogs for a walk, should I pop down to Argos to pick up that thing I've been wanting, should I try out the new vac?

My brain just somehow feels more up it - and my body isn't making its usual protests in response. The difference isn't down to weightloss cause it's only day 2 - it must be down to a different chemistry happening in my body and the carb cloud floating away.

I've had a headache or two, which must be the withdrawal side - but the greater sharpness is happening even faster than last time. Makes it all very worthwhile so far.

Now, as they say, I just need to get organised and I'll be dangerous!

It is good to hear someone so positive and on day two when most people feel like screaming! Keep it up and good luck with your LL Journey .

Hi, I agree 100%. When I started LL six weeks ago I was tired all the time and actually nodding off mid afternoon!! I was snoring like a bear at night and was just tired all the time (my husband nudging me to stop snoring every five minutes probably didn't help either!) After just two days on the diet I felt so much better. I had loads of energy and my snoring stopped completely, I think the snoring was probably more dairy related though. I've now lost 20 lbs and my knees have stopped creaking when I go down the stairs as well!

I am slightly worried about when I do start to eat again, but I suppose avoiding certain foods for the rest of my life is a small price to pay for the improvement in my lifestyle and health. So good for you for returning to LL and know that you can be successful this time around.
