When i come off CD, the weight seems to fly on. I mean i can even eat one meal without putting 7-8lb on! Okay i havent ate healthly, but not like i used too! why is it going on soo fast? its depressing, im so close to my biggest ever weight, its scarey!

i walk everywhere! i dont drive so i have too. We went new york last month and walked about 6-7miles a day

Is it what you did while you were on the diet? Maybe your body has got used to it, try a different exercise, how about jogging so upping the intensity a bit?

Wow I don't know the answer if I'm honest but have you been watching your food positions ?
How many calories a day have you eaten?
Have you had a high amount of carbs?
Not drinking water ? More than 1.5 litres a day?
I just don't know but I really think following each stage of a vlcd is so important to ME.. I'm not aiming this at you but I'm on exante now and once I have about 10 lbs left to lose I will switch to CD and follow the maintaince plans ie 1000/1200/1500 2 weeks each I think??

I'm on this forum daily and have read people maintaining their weight loss for years just like KD and two other ladies on Lighter life, I bet it's not easy but it's possible.

Have you got a supportive CDC ? U can chat to and ask questions ?

Goof luck x

well i think that if you just come straight off from a lower plan into 'normal' eating, then you will put 7ish lbs on immediately cos that's the water weight and glycogen going back on.

that's one of the reasons why you need to go slowly up the plans or increase the exercise or preferably both!

also, bear in mind that when you're smaller you need less food, so even though you might be eating noticeably less than you used to, it could still be too much for you.

Cambridge stresses the importance of working up the plans to maintenance so carbs and extra calories are reintroduced slowly. If you jump from 500 cals and controlled carbs a day to 2,000 and tons of carbs (which is very easy to do) you get rebound regain. You have been under-eating for months perhaps so your body thinks YAY the famine is over, let's lay down fat again! To keep you alive during the next 'famine'.

Even Atkins means low-carbing and then gradually introducing more carbs into maintenance. Also the extra carbs make you much hungrier - your ketosis is gone so you get cravings again and tend to eat more, particularly sugars and starches.

So all in all this leads to fast weight gain. Limit carbs forever, is my advice (from personal experience). Don't cut them out, but limit them.

I agree with everyones comments on here - I learnt a very valuable lesson when I did lighterlife three years ago and lost four stone - but did not do the maintenance properly. I went into bingeing then trying to compensate with packs - it was a total mess and I was very naive. I put nearly six stone on over the next year through my head being in a total mess 10st to nearly 16st).

I started Cambridge in Jan this year and have lost almost five stone and now weigh 10st 10lb. I did SS for five months, then 810 for a month and now im on 1000 and still losing two pounds a week. Moving up the plans properly is ESSENTIAL so you can gradually introduce food properly (as like you I was gaining massive amounts of weight by eating a meal).
Im now able to eat my full 1000 calories a day and will be moving up to 1200 next week. I did not introduce carbs properly back then so the weight just piled on so so fast. I see now where I went so wrong and im so happy that I can now have pasta, rice. potato for tea and not gain weight.

I wouldnt want anyone to go through what I went through which is the classic mistake when doing any VLCD.
Have faith and move up the plans and you should be able to eat a long term decent amount of food which is surely what we are all aiming for.

The best of luck to you x
