ARRRRGH i'm caving already!!!!!

EEEEK!

What is happening!???? On day 3 and felt great and in control so far..

Until about an hour ago when I opened a drawer and found some haribo tangfastics... ate about 8

After that I couldn't stop thinking cheese... random! So went in the fridge and ate a slither!!

Have I ruined everything and have to start again or will I stay in ketosis?

I am so angry and dissapointed in myself :( bugger!! It's only day 3!!
 
I've also just been looking at the dukan and atkins forums and wondering why im not doing that and eating all those lovely things?!!
 
right so you have had a moment of weakness, oh well put it behind you what is done is done, chin up remember what you have achieved so far stop torturing yourself with the other forums and carry on, you can do it be strong x
 
p.s, love the "i keep trying to loose weight, but it keeps finding me" lol brilliant !
 
Thank you :) it's like a sudden wave of craziness.. because now I feel totally strong again and totally stupid for what I just did! I think my mind is beginning to play tricks on me!! Arrgh! Do you think it will have kicked me out of ketosis? Can't bear the thought of ruining it al for a handful of haribo n a little slice of cheese!!!
 
to be honest i don't know if it will have kicked you out of ketosis the cheese shouldn't have done and if it really was only 8 haribo then i would guess that you would be fine. Really try not to think about it too much keep focussed on how well you have done up until now. Beating yourself up about it won't help you, you have successfully got this far dont let a little blip knock you back x

Being on the lipotrim does require you not to eat or drink anything besides the shakes, water, tea, coffee and leaf tea. By doing this your body will deplete all your water and glycogen supply. Once these have been used up? Your body will then enter into "Ketosis" which basically means when your body is burning your excess fat for energy.
By you eating haribo and cheese? You are restoring the glycogen and the body stops burning the fat for energy and instead burns the things you just ate.

So to answer your question? Yes you have thrown yourself out of ketosis. If you keep starting and stopping the diet? Chances are, you will be worse off than you are now. So maybe you should consider another diet where you can still treat yourself. Otherwise, as anyone whose been on the lipotrim for a long time will tell you, it's definitely not for the faint hearted.

In one way it is perfectly natural for our bodies to crave carbs, it's our usual pathway for energy and our bodies are well aware of the lack of them, day 3 appears to be the hardest as this is when our glycogen stores are at their point of depletion so it's likely that you weren't quite in ketosis yet, the worst that can happen is that if you get back on the LT bike tomorrow you will have another rough 3 days on the craving front but you'll still drop lbs this week as you've had a much reduced calorie intake overall.

Mostly I find this diet very interesting, it's clear some find this plan easier than others, and that follows with that some people are less carb sensitive than others, some people will not manage ketosis on this plan an some people will enter ketosis on day 2-3, hence the reason that a lot of people fail in the 1st week as after 5 or 6 days of not eating and no ketosis, well a saint couldn't keep that up and basically you are just starving yourself then.

Try and give it another shot and maybe get some ketostix to see if you are getting anywhere

Lanarkwitch - I didn't know for sure but def felt like I was in ketosis, if i was ive def knocked myself out of it, could tell today.. bugger!! haha mind is on it now though, i wrote down what I ate and how awful I felt after so that if I get the urge again I can look back and see how it wasn't worth it.. fingers crossed! :)

Miami - i'm not stopping and starting and am back on track today, it was just a blip and am happy to continue on my LP journey!

Back on track thanks :D Felt fine today but no smelly breath or dry mouth.. Uh oh!! So think I kicked myself out of it :( Ha ha I never thought i'd ever want that smelly breath back so much!!! Wrote down how I felt after it so if I ever get these crazy ideas again I can look back at how dissappointed I was in myself!

How are you doing? Do things get any easier come week 13?

Glad to hear you are back on the wagon and its a wise idea to write your feelings down. Yeah by week 13 you are well in the swing of things, by week 2 you will be well on the way to being in the swing of things. Don't get me wrong i still want things every now and again but its not because i am hungry just that i quite like food hence why i am here in the first place lol
 
Well done for getting back on it! and what a great idea to write down how you felt after eating those things! I may steal that idea - also something to look back on when you have lost your weight and are starting to eat again.

I know that the pharmacist weighs you, but do you guys take your own measurments too?
