Depression & VLCD's - Q for CDC's

SoonToBeGorgeous

Loving the Cambridge Diet
I have just been diagnosed with Clinical Depression and have been prescribed Prozac. For a month to start with to see how I am after four weeks.

I have been on Sole Source for 7 weeks.

Apparently I am not allowed to do Sole Source any longer because of the depression.

I don't mind being on the 790 Plan at all.

Can't find anything to explain why I cannot keep going on Sole Source.

Why can't I continue on Sole Source?

You can do Cambridge SS/790 if you are depressed but only with your GP consent.

If you are severely depressed then you aren't allowed to do any Cambridge programme.

The difference between severly and not is up to your GP to make that decision.

Therefore you need to chat this over with GP and confirm with him/her what you should and shouldn't do.

They do say on VLCD it gives you a low mood , and i've had that , but i'm starting CD again and reading your post has brought it back to me that feeling ... arr well i guess if you really want it you have to out ride it . hope you are ok !

3 stone in 7 weeks , thats really good . Hey you do what you can , you've done really well .

Hope you start to feel better soon. It will take the prozac around 2 weeks to start to stabilise your serotonin levels. From what I read on here 790 still gives good steady weight loss, and as you start to feel better because the depression is being treated you will feel good because you are still losing. Well done for losing so much weight and sticking to ss whilst not feeling good:))

Thanks everyone.

I haven't had problems sticking to CD at all - the opposite in fact.

I have had a lot to deal with in recent months with medical investigations etc and it has all caught up with me, that's all.

My GP said I can continue with 790 with no problems, so that is okay.
