I am losing weight and i obviously have plenty of lumps and bumps.... i want some underwear to smooth things out!!! Started looking at shapewear but the choice is staggering!!! I don't mind spending a bit if need to but i am completely bemused with it all!!!! Am i best going into a store (Debenhams maybe) and asking staff????

i find the really high up knickers are best, the ones that go practically up to your boobs. Really unglamourous, but i find anything shorter kind of pushes the flab upwards, whereas those one seem to contain and flatten the tum.

I have the ones off ideal world tv, they go from under your boob's to half way down your thighs and I love them.

They shouldn't roll down if you buy the right size, I think they have a sizing guide on their website.

I have the Suzanne and Trinny shapewear. They are like cycling shorts, and come up to under my bust. They don't shape me as I had hoped, but possibly I bought too big a size?

Best try the items on in a department store. You can always buy the items online once you know what size to buy.

The large knickers will displace fat - when I had that style before, I ended up with bulges around my waist and chubby thighs. Try the cycling shorts - but beware of the length of your dress.....

My friend recommends Spanx. I also hear M&S do lots of shapewear.

best of luck

i got shapewear in the form of tights out of boots that were really good at sucking me in but quite expensive in the long run as it's quite easy to stick a finger through the sheer tightsy-bit.

I love my M&S ones- they're £35 so a bit pricey but really do the job and don't roll down.

(except now I'm getting a bit small for them so could do with the next size down...)

i need something like that in white, very clingy dress plus alcohol = bloating....
