Hi everyone, i'm new to SW after being on WW for years.
Has anyone worked out the formula for the syns calculator?
I knew what It was on WW and it was really easy whilst in the shops with the calc on my phone.
I noticed on the website It asks for just kcals or kj.

Thanks:)

You can use 1 syn for every 20 calories for things with no free food allowance - so very easy for stuff like, crisps, chocolate, cake, breads, biscuits, alcohol etc. It also works for a selection of other things that Slimming World have decided dont have a free food allowance (so prepacked sandwiches, soup, cooking sauces, pizza). If you were on red days you can apply it to green/EE type foods (beans, pasta, rice etc), and if on green you can apply it to meat and meat products.

But there is no simple formula for foods that have a free food allowance, for that you either need syns online or the syns calculator - and you only get those as a member. You can ask on here, and usually somene is happy to help.

On the website, if it only asks for calories you are probably looking at the "snackulator" which is for foods with no free food allowance and works on the 1 syn for every 20 cals formula. The full syns calculator asks what the free food is, then works out syns based on calories, fibre, protein and carbohydrate.
