Hi Stacey, welcome to minimins. Here you will find great advice, information and above all friends and support. Don't be afraid to ask any questions, there will always be someone along who can help and advise. Good luck with your weight loss journey hun xx

Oh and in answer to some of your questions, you shouldn't experience any tummy upsets. You will be hungry for the first few days until ketosis kicks in, after that it will be plain sailing. Stick with it, drink plenty of water and you will be losing those pounds rapidly.

thanks for a speedy reply!! hope it does all go well! ive got 5 stone to loose so its all good! :D it looks a friendly place here so im happy!

Hi Stacey

You can do it, of course and the first few days will set the scene for you. Try as hard as you can to NOT cheat even once and it will make life easier in the long run. If you look at the most remarkable losses in the fastest times with the least recidivism (eek? who could spell that? Getting fat again) they're the ones who knuckled down from the outset and didn't stop to baby their inner fatso.

I only discovered the wider aspects of this site in the last few days - there are bits about the psychology of why we overeat, recipe threads, maintenance and lots more. Explore and waste as much time here as you need rather than staring dolefully into the fridge ;);)

Everyone's soo sweet and kind. Possibly too kind - I sometimes think we need a forum Nastyi to kick people in the rear when they look like misbehaving. That's a whole 'nother topic though

GOOD luck!!!!!!!!!!! Go for it.

Welcome Stacey! And all the very best for your first week. I think its Icemoose who says 'Keep your head down and keep your eyes on the prize' (or something like that, sorry Mike if I got it wrong lol!). He is a shining example of what can be achieved when you stick to the plan 100%:D

I have to agree that its SO SO SO important not to cheat. If you pick, if you cheat, there is basically no point doing this. You might as well be doing calorie counting - its not worth buggering a VLCD up, it really isnt, it removes the whole point of it. Be determined!

I was doing LT until a few weeks ago, when I felt I needed a change and so went over to Cambridge. So far I have lost over 4 stone in total, and the time has flown. Just keep focussed and you *will* do this.

The first week can be very tough, I wont try to pretend that it isnt - but when you need support and motivation, just come online and you'll remind yourself of why you are doing LT and what you can achieve!

Best of luck an welcome to the forum...nothing much more to add to what the others have said...it really works just stick to it...the first week is the worst but its the week you loose the most so its worth it!

Hi Stacey, welcome to the forum. I agree with all that has been said up above and I am also starting again this week with CD. Like Elle I moved recently to CD from LT for a change but I had a break in between and I am finding it hard to get back on the wagon again. I am determined to do it this week come hell or high water so we can keep each other company on this first week of hell !! It really does get better I promise!! :)

its the day today! ive been drinking water all morning but have not yet had a shake as i dont actually feel hungry... is this the right thing to do? or am i ment to have them one in the morning, one at lunch and one at tea? i do think this first week will be the hardest!! argh!!

I normally have them like that but I think you can have them when you like as long as you have them because the nutrients for the day are spread into three packs. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so I would suggest you have that one at least. Im sure you know that if as your name suggests you are a nurse!! :)

yeah i am a nurse! lol only just though, im newly qualified. I will have one in the morning but the second two may well be spread througout the day, probably later on. I have had my morning one, and surprisingly i liked it! the lady in the chemist said they arent too tasty!! i am struggling to drink so much water though, ive only had 1 litre so far today. i usual drink dilute pop by the gallon, so i didn't think id have such a problem, i mean its the same right, just not a splash of orange stuff in it but i am finding the water thing very hard! yet i have read how important it is!! argh!! not feeling hungry though ;)
my mum is also doing it, and has joined the forum although i dont think she has posted yet, shes 'hellie'
Thanks for your support!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Have an enjoyable journey to getting slimmer. I hope you find all the support you need here.

You get to like drinking water. I never drank that much water to be honest but now (especially in work) I drink all the time and I like it !! Weird or what!!

good luck with it all! make sure you space your water out and dont glug too much all in one go - the 4 litres needs to be trickled in throughout the day. It took me about 4 days to get into a routine with the water but I am good with it now - there is a really helpful thread about it somewhere if you do a search you will find it:))

New here too

Hi Stacey, I've just started the lipotrim today as well. Had a vanilla shake mid morning and have just had a chicken soup, hadn't been feeling hungry til about 4pm ish but am pretty hungry now, hopin that the soup will take the edge off it soon. They don' t taste that great but they're not supposed to (according to the blurb), pallatable though. Plan is to have a warm chocolate one mid-evening as a hot chocolate substitute! Having trouble making myself drink so much water, always drink too litle these days, as being a district nurse, I dont have access to a loo apart from at lunchtime.......... what goes in has to come out! May prove tricky next week. Hoping we both achieve our goals! All the best x

luckily ive got two weeks until i start my job, but ill be based on a ward so should have easy access to a loo at anytime!
another question is what is the usual time frame people stay on this? i cant see myself staying on it long as it is way to anti social for a 21 yr old! and to be honest i dont think i can cope without food for too long! i just need a kick up the butt to sort me out and i think/hope this is it!!

Most people set a target weight and stay on it until they have reached that weight. One of the reasons I personally changed to CD was because you can do different variations like the 790 which is still a VLCD but slightly easier to fit into your social life because you can have a small amount of certain foods without going over 800calories a day.

ah right, i get ya, its never been the number with me though, its how i look, so i could stay the same weight but loose my spare tyre and id be ok! if you get what i mean?! lol but i dont think ill be on it any longer than a month!
