Total Solution Needing to say 'Goodbye 71 pounds!'

Well, I am 31, very tall at 5 ft 11" and have a huge bust too so people have always felt they have a right to comment on how I look :( so I now need to do this for me and not them!

I was always fat as a teenager and seemed to gain a stone with every year! I did lose all my weight at 18 and went down to my now target weight of 11 and half stone but I put most of it back on again by the time I was 21 as I was very ill at the time and after I got married I piled on even more weight. I have never had enough willpower to get the weight off again!

I have a few medical conditions to contend with; Ulcerative colitis, Endometriosis, Psoriasis and Brittle Asthma most of which steroids seems to be the answer hence weight on weight off but I can't use them to allow myself to be fat!

So, I am on day four and fighting the boredom hence my ramblings here lol I have not weighed myself yet as I fear getting disheartened and giving up while I am on the early days!

My mum left me a nice message on fb and I think her words are true of us all - 'The diet is only the tool you are the one that is making it happen, you are changing your life' so thanks mum for the wise words!

So good luck to me and good luck to all of you ;) Roll on day 5!

Good luck Katt, Im at day 9 and still excited about possibility loosing the 14 lbs a month that seems possible on exante!! Its my first time on a vlcd so waiting to be surprised with a successful three months on it! Have good week till WI!

Thanks Dawn :) Well done on getting to day 9! I am sure we will all soon be sharing the 'new me' pictures - think I may brave a before picture lol I always hide when the camera comes out :p I think this forum is even better than the diet tbh I probably would have cracked by no if I was not around all you lovely people going through the same thing - we all know it is difficult and that really helps. People who have never been over weight just don't understand how easy we got there and how hard it is to get it all off again! Good luck for your next WI :)

Good luck to you too huni. I know you are going to do great.

I know all about other people commenting on how you look. I work with Deaf BSL users and they are the most honest, upfront people ever. If I have put on weight or look a bit rough that day, they will soon tell me!

What a lovely thing for your Mum to write and very true too. It is you making things happen xxx

Thanks hun - nothing like a bit of honesty to get you motivated eh? I hope you have a great WI day xx

Good luck hun- u will loose that in no time:D ive been on it 17th day today and have lost just over a stone! and have aprox 37-40lbs left to loose! seems like a long way away but belive me once your in ketosis time flys it doesnt feel like ive been on exante that long lol, my advice to you is keep up with the water intake( the hungre is usually physcological)
laura xx

Thanks Laura, Wow great to hear how much you have lost already!! That helps to keep me going!

Made it to day 5!

I seem to be having bad nights - I have a lot of pain in my legs all the way up to my hips and I have had to take painkillers the last two nights :( hope this passes soon. I am drinking at least 3 liters of water a day sometimes getting up to 4 so I don't think it is lack of fluids?

Apparently I have the dreaded breath from hell lol and I can't say I feel hungry today but I do feel slightly sick and the first shake was hard to get down - so not sure if I am ketosis yet or not?!?

I am off to mums for the weekend which will mean being around food so I hope I manage to stick it out, I would be really disapointed to have come so far and give in - but as I keep dreaming of eating that will have to do :D

Anyway, I hope you are all having a good day and getting closer to your targets :)

Hi Katt and welcome :)

You will find this site a real lifeline.....even if you don't post yourself too much it's great to read others diaries to see that everyone is going through the same as you. Personally I had my week 7 WI this morning and another 2.5lbs off making 26.5 in total in 7 weeks. Hoping to break the 2 stone mark by next WI. Just goes to show that it is possible to lose a stone a month on this diet.

Hope all goes well for you and stay strong :)

Hello Elmer (love the name lol) congrats at doing so well! You must feel great :)

I am feeling a lot better now I have managed to drink more water :) I am also over the moon that I now can drink my Thai chicken soup - it is the smallest things that keep me happy lol - thanks to some great advice on one of the threads - mix it with tomato soup! I really was dreading having it again after my first taste of it and was putting it off so much that I would have ended up being left with it lol.

This forum is fantastic you are all so supportive and helpful and I know for sure I wouldn't have got this far without you all :D Thanks to you all!

I think most of us find that the more we have the soups and shakes the nicer they become. The first time I had the mushroom soup I heaved my way through half of it then had to throw it away, now I like it (not my favourite but definitely palatable). Stick with it as things do really get better:)

Thanks Elmer, you are right about how things improve over time - funny how much tastes change in only a few days!

Day six and I would say this is the best day yet. I feel tired but I am not sleeping very well so no surprise there :) but I do feel more alive lol and my mood has lifted a lot - I was feeling quite down before I started.

Not hungry and being more active so all good things really. I am a bit sick of water so I am going to go in search of Dr Pepper zero, I can't stand the coke zero and even after almost a week it still tastes awful :D and I miss my tea!! But I really can't have it black so I need to find something else :)

Hope everyone else has a great day!

Hope you have a great WI *hugs* xx

Only just discovered your diary tonight Katt :)

Oh bless you, what with your health & the steroid medication :( my friend was so tiny when we were younger and had to be put on steroids for an illness and she gained so much weight. It must be so hard. She's now in her mid twenties & has lost it all now, and you will too!

Why is it that being in a lovely, stable relationship makes us gain weight!? Lol! I'm the same - although always been overweight, became silly overweight (or obese as my GP might say ;) ) once I moved in with OH! Bloody men!

You're doing so well so far, it's great chatting to you guys! My poor OH must think I'm talking to another fella or something the amount of time my phone or laptop is glued to my hands whilst I'm on here reading and chatting hehe!

That's so lovely what your mum said! And so very true, what a wise lady! x

Hi Kelly, Glad you have support and now you have us mad lot too ;)

You're doing so well so far, it's great chatting to you guys! My poor OH must think I'm talking to another fella or something the amount of time my phone or laptop is glued to my hands whilst I'm on here reading and chatting hehe!

LMAO I know my hubby keeps asking who I am talking to now  LOVE your thinking - of course it is all their fault lol!

I am not on any meds at the moment other than for my asthma so not doing too bad on that front - it makes me laugh because they say 'oh if you lose weight things would improve' then hand you drugs that make you put weight on! Oh well you have to see the funny side of life lol

Hope you have a great day tomorrow *hugs* xx

I've had a much better day today thank you hun. How's your day been?

I seem to be quite hungry today though, where as I didn't feel it so much the first 3 days! Staying strong though! x

Day four was my most difficult but eventually it ended lol :D

Well, first WI and I have lost 5 pounds so I am happy with that - not as much as others but I have been having four packs a day. I am cutting it down to three this week as yesterday I couldn't face it, so I will see how I go.

I was proud of myself this weekend as I had to cook all the meals while at mums and I was not tempted once - not even by chips lol but I think this is down to ketosis and if I had been at mums at the start of the week I doubt I would have been so good!

I hope you all have a good week :)

Wow that's really good hun, well done! :)

I didn't know we could have 4 packs in a day! Well, I knew it was possible as there isn't a law saying we can't.... but still haha! That's handy to know then, if I'm ever struggling with just the 3 but so far so good (since my slip up!).

Good luck for tomorrow x
