Hi Guys

Just come back from my second weigh in after following EE for two weeks. In week one I lost 3 lbs and this week, i've only lost 0.5 lbs and even though it is a loss, i'm so disappointed

Has anyone else experienced this - could really do with some ideas to keep me going - i've followed the plan closely and have had no more than 10 syns on any day and somedays i have none.

Hopefully someone can help xx

Just keep at it! The weight will soon come off if you stick to it!!

And remember to use your syns, they are part of the plan - not using them doesn't mean you will lose weight any faster.

If you are following extra easy have you definately been getting a third superfree in? I know I am horrendous at getting that in and have you been synning everything properly? Using your healthy extras??

Yes this happened to me. I am very disappointed as I had followed the plan 100%. The only thing I can think of is that last week I did not eat before going to WI and that was enough to trigger a nasty migraine ( I suffer from them if I don't eat at regular intervals - and sadly just eating fruit or carrot sticks doesn't help) so this week I ate before WI (only a small portion of a free meal and it was about 2 hours before) Has anyone else found this happen to them? Would this be enough to make a difference?

Sometimes our bodies just dont want to lose it that week, or could be because of * week
Did you keep a food diary? This week try to :) And recheck all syns, but likely because the "computer says no" idealogy but keep at it x

are you drinking enough water?? at least a litre a day, prefferably 2?

it makes a difference!!

I understand how frustrating it is... I used to get so upset with small weight losses. I used to find that my weight losses were barely anything when I did EE. Have you tried doing just Red or Green days? These used to work better for me, although obviously it is personal preference. Good luck anyhow xxx

OP may not have a choice for the first few weeks, we dont at our class anyway, newbies are told to do first 6 weeks on EE

You do have the choice of which plan to follow, its usually just advised for new members to try EE first as it is easier to follow. Have a word with your consultant and explain your not happy with your losses and wish to try red and green and see what she/he suggests.

I think your doing fine and I have heard of a lot of people only losing a small amount in their second weeks and losing a lot in their third week.

I lost 4.5lbs in my first week, then 2.5lbs in my second week, maintained in my third week (and I was expecting a loss) but lost 4lbs in my 4th week!

They body is a weird and wonderful thing, you will probably have a bigger loss next week if you still stick to the plan and have all of your syns!!!

Hope this helps, don't lose hope, you can do it!!!

Try not to worry - I think this happens to everyone at some point! You'll most likely make up for it at the next weigh in! I stayed the same for one week despite exercising loads and being very strict and lost 6lb at the next WI without doing anything different! It's most likely your body getting used to the reduced calorie intake and retaining everything, but chin up, it'll pass!

With sincere apologies for the rather superfluous exclamation marks. It's been a long day.

Hey
Welcome to Slimming World & to Minimins - you've come to the right place!
Don't panic (though you will.. because I did too lol)
I lost 3lb in my first week :)....
Then lost 4lb :D...
Then lost 0.5lb

And cry I did!! I cried. I sulked. I cried some more. "A loss is a loss'' everyone told me... oh how that grated on me.

The following week? I lost 2.5lbs lol.
I still don't know why I only lost 0.5lb that week. My syns were always under 10 a day... often under 5 some days!!
But I was having problems with my bladder and periods so I think maybe that was a factor. And I honestly think NOT having enough SYNS can hinder the losses, funnily enough.

Your body WILL catch up.
Did you take up alot of exercise in your 2nd week? Maybe that's a factor?

I'm about to start Kettleworx next week - and everyone has said your weightloss stays the same, or sometimes increases while doing it, as your body is turning the fat into muscle. This upsets me just thinking about it as I have 17.5lb to lose by November. BUT if it gives the required results which is a leaner, flatter, toned body.. then I'm sure I can put up with that hehe.

Keep going - best of luck!!

Hiya, this is my first post, and I came on to see if I could find an answer to this exact question! I had my second weigh in today, lost 3lb on my first week and only 1.5 today, and I was so disappointed! I have followed the plan to the letter, and although this is my first ever diet, I think I get the idea behind EE and syns and everything, but it does take a bit of getting your head around! Anyway, I've taken a bit of heart from everyone's previous replies, so thank you :)

Just one quick question, I think I got so disappointed as I have been weighing myself at home, and my scales seem to show me as being 4 or 5lb less than the SW scales (consistently too). Is it just a big nono to weigh yourself at home, as it can be really demotivating if you think you have lost more than you have?? what do the rest of you do?

Hey Jo!

I think it's annoying when you have a big loss, then a smaller one. But as long as you are losing 1lb a week (or even just losing anything) then you are doing it right :) you're body might just be getting used To it all. One thing I'd say is always use your syns :), maybe try and mix your days up every now and then if u can.
As for weighing at home, I do tend to have a sneaky peak between weigh ins. I didn't when I first started because I didnt own scales. But now I do I can't resist. My scales, I know, are either the same as SW or sometimes 0.5lb out (making me think I've lost more lol). If u know your scales are out by that much, I wouldn't use em tbh, they'll just dishearten you while you're mid week - also your weight fluctuates all week and all day so u never get a proper reading until weigh in anyway xxx

Hehe I do still jump on and off my scales because they arent far off the SW ones. But i think if you ones are out by so much then it'll throw you off completely :) keep going with SW, and maybe invest in some new ones if the temptation really is too much hehe. But don't become obsessed like me!! So far my weight has completely confused me this week:
Before I went to vegas I weighed 10st 10.5lbs at SW.
-Ate the worst non-sw friendly foods for 7 days weds to weds!
Weighed myself Tuesday I was 11st 2lbs (but I had eaten during the day already)
Weighed again on Weds morning and was 10st 9 & 3/4lbs.
Weighed on weds evening and was 10st 10lbs.
Weighed (do you see a pattern here?!) this morning and I was 10st 8 & 3/4lbs.
Weighed again today, AFTER food, and was 10st 11 & 1/4lbs.

So you see... I haven't a scooby doo what the hell my weight is hahaha cos it keeps changing. Instead, i'm gonna do my 2nd kettleworx workout tomorrow... maybe another one saturday morning before weigh in (maybe after) and weigh myself before SW... then see what SW says... and i'll know how out my scales are too. Fingers crossed. Yes, i've had a bad week, but i've tried reeling it back the past few days :) xx
