August starters!

Hi
Is anyone starting in August? I am due to restart on Thursday after a break of nearly 2 years. I lost more than 2 stones last time, which was an emergency crash diet before having major surgery. The surgery had been planned way beforehand but I had yo-yo'd until 3 months before the op, when I suddenly woke up and took action.
That success seems like a long time ago now, because since then stuff has happened, and I've reverted back to my usual self, with a great dollop of shame and regret thrown in, which kinda fuels the overeating.
Anyhow, have decided to go back and try to lose it all again.
Is anyone else starting in August to share the ups and downs?

I am awaiting confirmation that I can start, went to informal meeting a week ago now and promptly returned my health form the next day but as yet not got the go ahead, getting fed up now as just want to start.

Hey, I started yesterday and would love to share the ups and the downs! x

Am glad there are others giving it a go this month! How is your first week going, Joanne? I remember the strangeness of it all, and the elation at the first weigh in. I am looking forward to not having to make decisions about food, getting away from the food minefield. Loops I hope you get the go ahead soon!

should be starting group tonight, lady called last night and apparently super drug filled in mt form all wrong and put i had all kinds of stuff wrong! grrr anyway she's going to call me today. fingers crossed!

have a good day xx

I start tomorrow, first meeting tonight. Can't bloomin wait!!

Daughter forgot to tell me lady called and said all ok to go Tuesday, so now got to wait till Monday 8th, but thats not too far away. Hope you are all doing well xx

Day 2 ... feeling hungry and a bit odd, but it will pass ... lots of tv and magazines I think ... oh and water ....

Hi all. I started on Wednesday so day 2 for me. I'm not sure at the minute I was really sick last night and I'm not normally a sickie person. So a bit confused! Today has been better although I could only manage two packs. I don't understand whats going on with my body lol!!!

Has anyone else noticed all the food adverts? Arghhhh lol!

Good luck all. Xxx

Food everywhere on TV, bbq's all around, its enough to drive you crazy!! Worth it though, in the end! You will probably start noticing how many large people are around too, non judgementally, but when you are bigger you don't seem to notice them.
Glad you had a better day, LL shoyldn't make you sick, so maybe a bug. Drink plenty of water to get rid of it and help with losses. Hard as it is, you must have all 4 packs each day, its a vlcd, if you miss a quarter or half if the cala your body will think its being started and will hoarde what you have. That will slow your losses down.
Good luck with your journey, its really great when ketosis fairy kicks in and you see the weight drop off!

Day 2 here, just had a shepherd's pie, my first ever...not sure about it! Put some Tabasco on it to mask the taste, dunno, I thought it might be like one of those wonderful Vesta curries of my youth, but it wasn't really like that. Have saved a vanilla for my supper. Ketosis not kicked in yet, and am hungry, but feeling better for no overeating, and no vino..
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Food tastes seem to change as you go through LL, try fresh ground black pepper as well as Tabasco, I remember the vesta curries too!
Keep drinking the water or broth or tea it will keep hunger at bay, lots of soaking in the bath, candles and a book help too.
Ketosis fairy will be with you soon, so hunger will go then, good luck with your journey.

I find witht the SHeperds Pie and the Chili COn Carne that the amount of water you put in makes a HUGE difference in the enjoyment of the pack! Too little water - and its quite stodgy - so I use a bit more, and I find them luch that way. The chili becomes more like a spicy bean soup, and the SP also becomes more like a thick soup and its yummy laced with Tabasco and lots of S&P! :)

Thanks for the tips. I tried the chilli today and it wasn't bad at all, but the taste is a bit too concentrated and I think more water would help. Day 3, am hungry, again. Went to the gym and did some cardio stuff, not too intensive. Was doing my recycling earlier and was struck by how much packaging I generate from constant overeating; pizza boxes, biscuit packs, wine bottles, take-out cartons etc etc
However much lighter life costs it can't be as much as I spend on stuff that does me no good!

Funny after just 2.5 weeks, I had the same thought, said to my sister today that I thought there was less rubbish going into the bins.

Hi I started on the 1st August so first WI tomorrow. I am a returner after 4 years at that time I lost nearly 6 stones with another 3 to go then a blip in the home life and I got distracted and now 5 stone heavier. I hope to be able to wear a pair of trousers to see George Michael in December. Have been drinking hot water today to help keep me warm I am so cold. Nervous and excited about WI tomorrow. Good Luck to all us August starters.

Well had WI and couldn't believe it 15 and a half pounds lost. The best thing because of the weather here today I had to put tights on this morning and didn't struggle as much. Looking forward to the next stone.

Fab fab fab!! Well done x
