Hi
my names michele, i'm 50yrs old,
i have been over weight for yrs and been on so many diets, this time i am doing SW for the 2nd time after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in may, i have lost 23 and half pounds up to now,
most days i am fine with it, but to be honest it the complications of the diabetes that keeps me on track, maybe it was the best thing to happen to me,
i have read thru some posts and find it great reading!! so i hope you dont mind if i join in? many thanx

Hi Michele, Welcome to the forum.

Well done on your loss so far, that is certainly an accomplishment!

I am T2 DB as well diagnosed some 5yrs ago but just diet controlled. However, I am well aware of the sort of complications it can bring as my sister has been T2 for 12yrs now and is on meds. It certainly makes for rethinking ones life style, doesn't it?

Hope you get a diary started so we can see how you are getting on and offer you help and encouragement. I have found it invaluable.

Take care and all the very best to you.....:)

My hubby is diabetic too. He needed to get his level down or have injections. He followed SW with me and it dramatically reduced. My Mum has diabetes too. She is also overweight, smokes heavily and drinks. I wish she would follow slimming world but she won't hence why I have lost 3 stone and want to lose some more. I don't want to end up like my Mum, hence the loss of weight. I don't smoke or drink but I can eat....quite easily. I am sure any loss will help your diabetes.
Good luck
