Attack Elaine's giving Dukan a go! *preps chicken*

Likes to post, and eat.

Hello everyone,
I’m new to Dukan, I’ve recently lost almost 2 and a half stone on slimming world, but this had been very very gradual and I fancy, no, I need a change.
My colleagues and I have been talking about Dukan in the office for ages and we finally decided to give this a go, starting this week in the attack phase.

Now, I would be on Day 4 today, had I not caved last night and had a kit kat AND a piece of toast. :breakdiet:
There’s no excuse, I really struggle, with any kind of diet really… hence I’m here for support! I know the help and advice given on here is SO invaluable and that’s why I’m creating a Dukan Daily Diary J

Hope to stick with attack for 5 days… wish me luck!

Attack – Day 1. Weight am: 16:06

Breakfast: 1.5 tbls of oat bran, vanilla fat free yogurt.
Snack: 4 crabsticks
Lunch: 3 slices of ham, 2 x eggs (scrambled) 2 spoons of cottage cheese
Snack: Hartley’s strawberry sugar free jelly.
Dinner: Lean steak, prawns, garlic, fat free natural yogurt.

Other snacks incase I get hungry: cottage cheese, onken vanilla ff yog, prawns, slices of chicken.

2 Questions for day 1 :p
1 – Am I eating too much?
2 – Can you have sf jelly? AND.. is it true you’re allowed onion

Many thanks in advance :p

Hmmm if you freeze ff yogurt is it still an allowed food?

Yes you can have sf jelly but don't go mad with it!
No to onions in attack, unless you use them to flavour a dish only and don't eat them.

The galettes are v tasty, just make sure you cook it on a low-ish heat and don't try and flip it too early.. my first few looked like a total mess after falling apart, just perfected one yesterday (at last!) Tasted lovely with a sprinkle of mixed spice and some splenda )to taste) Or you could make it savoury and serve with some quark and smoked salmon.

How are you feeling? :)

Let us know how it goes using the panini press as I might try it if it works.

Oh dear! Wish I had read these posts earlier... it was an absolute disaster! LOL! Don't have a pannini press.. .. only a George Foreman over here.. don't think that would work due to the ridges. Hmm.

But thank you for the tips - definitely need to try lower heat and not flippin' too quickly! I did use salmon though.. but only one yolk, perhaps it was there?

Anyway ladies - thanks for the advice, hopefuly next time breakfast will be a little better

Well, my first attempt at a gallete was absolutely rubbish! And I ended up with some weird concoction that looked a little bit like scrambled egg... but tasted off.. umm I don’t know, not salmon, not oatbran, not omelette.. well I don’t know.. but it didn’t ‘pancake’ or even ‘pattie’ it was just a little bit mushy :p
Better luck next time though, and I’m hoping to try the toffee muffins soon (as these okay on attack, does anyone know?!)

Day 2 – Attack - Weight: 16.05 (down -1lb)
Breakfast: 1 tin of salmon, 1.5 table spoons of oat bran, 2 x eggs. (mixed) with half a mackerel fillet.
Lunch: Prawn and chicken kebabs with yogurt mixed with peri peri spices, with some slices of steak (about 1/3 of a piece, was left over last night)
Dinner: Hoping to make some homemade burgers with extra lean mince, garlic and herbs and going to have it with some cottage cheese.
Snack: For later on I have made a weird dessert :p with lemon & lime flavoured sugar free jelly & ff natural yogurt.

Glad I got through day 1 (again) it’s harder than my first day 1! So need to keep going as don’t want to have to go through these first three days again J
Thanks for the tips, and if anyone notices where/if I’m going wrong then please let me know J

Goodness made the diet coke sauce! (well I used pepsi max) used it to cook my prawns and chicken and it was soooo nice I made it again this evening to top my home made burgers.

Absolutely lush!! Highly recommend xx

Happy Sunday beautiful ladies!
Am another 1lb down on Dukan this morning, which is surprising me as I'm eating loads (and loads)

Although everyone else appears to have bigger losses than me in attack? Maybe I'm eating too much dairy... Hmmm. Anyway! Onwards and upwards - only today and tomorrow left on attack.

Can't wait to move on to cruise stage and bring in some veggies and salad though - very excited for that! :/

Day 3 - Attack - Weight: 16:04 (-1lbs) [finallly back to my lowest weight, everrr!]

Breakfast: 2 x grilled turkey rashers, 3 x dry fried egg, cottage cheese
Snack: 4 x crab sticks
Lunch: third of quiche (same as sw recipe only no veg or onion) chicken breast

Dinner: slice of beef, slice of ham, third of the quiche.

I'm going on a 10k walk tonight! Whoop, although don't know how I'll get through as stepped on some glass and sure I've got a small piece still stuck in my foot! Grrrr! ?

Hope everyone else is doing okay! And hope my quiche tastes nice, aha.

Not made diet coke sauce, how do you do it? X

Hi Hun, this is the recipe I got from the Dukan thread:

100ml diet coke
1 tbsp reduced sugar & salt tomato ketchup
2 tsp sweetner
Dash Worcestershire sauce
Dash red wine vinegar
Salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp cornflour

But I only used pepsi max and some spices, I have added sweetener before though and that's also nice - you can customise it however you want.
It is VERY yummy, give it a try and let me know what you think!! x

Go Eli! This diet has been amazingly easy for me. The dairy and the veg (finally) have been so nice. One thing I detested when I tried and then gave up due to boredom on Atkins was the lack of tomato and certain veggies that I love. I cook with tomato a lot in so many ways. This way I am able to cook as I always have (no large amounts of oil of course) and just leave out the starchy side dish. I don't even miss it really. I did notice that I am always eating. Not large amounts but pretty much all day long which has stabilized my hypoglycemia and perhaps makes the old thyroid happy. Feel free to contact me at any time at all. If I can be of any help - I will. I am pretty new but will find an answer somehow, someway if I can. Great day to you!

Thank you hun!
Well. I am doing well, but I was doing well before (I managed to go from Tues - Thurs fine, but then caved on Thursday night) and now I've managed to go from Friday 'till today fine and today I am just *so* hungry! I am craving chocolate and bread and carbs no end! EEK! And while babysitting really had to fight the urge to resist some white chocolate

However. I have not caved! I have eaten a lot though... reading through the messages on here I'm sure I am eating more than most.

One thing I'm stuggling to get my head around is the ketosis thing... am I right in thinking you don't go in to ketosis on Dukan (because of carbs in oatbran/dairy/milk etc?) Because i n this case maybe I am eating too much.

Or does it work in another way? Maybe because it limits fats unlike atkins (well I've never done atkins)

At the end of the day, I've lost a lb so far, which granted isnt as much as some... but going to carry on like this 'till Tuesday morning!

Thanks for the advice hun! And good luck with your journey, do you have a diary on here? x

So proud of myself, tonight I :

- walked 10k
- resisted pizza
- resisted the most beautiful and yummy looking cup cakes i've possibly ever seen, ever
- stopped at the services went to m&s and got prawns, fat free yog (that was fruit so binned it!) sliced ham and some skimmed milk!

Aha! :bunnydance:

Well done Elaine, thats quite a walk :)

Ive always had problems walking, my lower back locks up badly, but im walking further and further with no problems this week and really enjoying it.. who'd have thought walking would be fun!

Hi hun, well done with that! I really enjoyed getting the walks in as I usually just do classes at the gym (which I loved, but was glad of the change for a little while) how was your weekend a la Dukan? :D
