I made this...

Pete’s Pizza made from Instant Mash (3)

Serves 4

Ingredients

Use 125g from a pack of Sainsbury Instant Mash (250g)
One Tsp of mixed herbs.

Method

Mix together then add hot water until the mix is like bread doe.
Add 1 egg and mix.
Spray a Flat Pan with 3-4 Fry Light shots, wipe across pan.
Press the mix into the pan and cover in clingfilm, rolling out with a rolling pin as thin as possible, remove clingfilm.
Cook one side until light brown then slide onto a flat plate with care, add 2-3 Fry Lights then return the pizza base and cook other side 3-6 mins depends on thickness.
Allow to cool on a cake rack.

Put Passata in a pan enough to cover Pizza base, add 1 TSP Tomato Puree and a few drops of “Worcester Sauce”,add chopped basil leaves, heat till thickened but DO NOT BOIL.
Coat the Pizza base with the Passata, cook your onion in balsamic vinegar until soft, add to base.
Add your choice of “Toppings”

This was my choice of Toppings : 5balls/40g Mozzarella, 1 slices of Lean Ham, 2 Mushrooms, sprinkled with 28g of Mild Hard Cheddar and place on Pre Heated Pizza Stone at 180/190 and cook until the cheese is bubbling.

I like the pitta bread pizza idea that sounds yum and also something i think the kids would like to get involved with making it and eating it :D

I have to say i have tried the mash pizza and it wasn't my cup of tea :/ but i know a few people at my SW meetings rave about it and my husband loved it and he's not even doing SW lol xx

If you have a few syns to spare try making it on a tortilla wrap! they do vary in syns from about 5-8 so you would have to check the values but it's a really good pizza alternative. Also really good for kids as they tend not to like the thick crust on normal pizza.

Warburtons make square wraps and they are perfect for making pizza as I find them I bit thicker than a normal tortilla wrap...

There is the chicken topped 'pizza' recipe on the website which sounds really nice. I haven't tried it yet but its on my list of things to try!

Heres the recipe...

This Italian-inspired dish gives you all the taste of cheesy pizza, for Free! Using chicken or turkey as a base saves on doughy Syns and provides a real deep-pan meat feast! For a Green option, top a jacket potato or omelette.

FREE*
(*Add 6 Syns if not using cheese as a Healthy Extra 'a' choice)

ingredients

½ small red onion, chopped
½ red pepper, chopped
1 small clove of garlic, crushed
1 tbsp stock, made from Vecon/Bovril
2 vine tomatoes, skinned and chopped
1 tbsp tinned tomatoes
1 tsp tomato puree
1 tsp oregano
1 chicken fillet
Fry Light
42g low fat hard cheese, grated
1 cherry tomato, halved
fresh basil, roughly chopped

method

1. Place the onion, pepper and garlic in a small saucepan with the stock and simmer for a few minutes.

2. Add the vine tomatoes to the pan, then the tinned tomatoes, tomato puree and oregano. Cut the chicken fillet in half horizontally, being careful not to cut it the whole way through. Fold open to make a butterfly shape. Spray a non-stick frying pan lightly with Fry Light then fry the chicken to give colour on both sides. Place the chicken on a baking tray and place in the oven, 220ºC/Gas 7 for 15-20 minutes.
3. When cooked, place the tomato mixture on top of the chicken. Add the cheese and sprinkle with basil. Place the cherry tomato on the top, then put back in the oven for 5 minutes.

4. Serve with a huge crispy salad, a Healthy Extra (on Original) jacket potato or roasted vegetables.

Tip: Add 6 Syns on Extra Easy if not using the cheese as a Healthy Extra 'a' choice.
