Whipping or double? Any difference?

Okay so I'm looking at my allowance (induction) for cream etc and it says 75ml of whipping cream...so is this the same for double cream? Double cream isn't mentioned in my book as far as I can tell (though I think this may be because they call it heavy cream or something in the states?), but loads of people on here use it, like in cheeseburger pie etc...so what's the story?

Okay, so just looked on the tesco website at the different creams and can see that double cream has less than half the carbs of whipping cream, so I'm guessing that yes I can substitute it for whipping cream (in my allowance that is). I'm assuming the reason it's not mentioned in my book is perhaps because it's not used as much in the states or something. Think I've answered my own question, lol!
 
Love double cream - never bought it before lol :). As with all goodies moderation is key! A tablespoon goes a long way:D

Cream and cheese stall me, too! I do have both but in limited amounts and not every day.

I use double cream, too, or single if making sauces or low carb bread. The American version of Atkins (it did start over there!) calls for 'heavy cream' which is probably closer to UK whipping cream but I think double cream is a very fair subsitute.

Yeah I figured out that was the case or something like that- just wanted to check really. If anything double cream looks better as significantly lower carb content:woohoo:
