Off plan days

Hi!

Last week, I had a night out and decided to eat what I wanted and drink a fair bit of alcohol (vodka) with the intention of going straight back on plan the following day. I appear to have put on 2lb just from that one night, and since then my weight has stubbornly stayed exactly the same! I have been careful to stay clean and green since then, although have had a very small amount of cheese (less than 1oz) on a couple of days.

I'm starting to get a bit fed up with it.... even though I know a stall is several weeks, but I only lost a few lb in my first couple of weeks and have put most of it back after just one night! Do you think it's just co-incidence, or can going off plan during induction completely mess up the weight loss?

Thanks!

It is very possible to knock yourself out of ketosis but the answer is to get back into it quickly. During induction it is best to play by the rules to be honest. If you are stalling, identify what is stalling you through a process of elimination and then wait for the fairy to call. She will...with a whoosh! :)

I've been on atkins for nearly 4 months now, basically on induction. Apart from a hot dog and a maccys at a Take That concert i've been really strict. Went to Manchester on Saturday night and had pizza and garlic bread at the end of the night and planned to eat everything in sight for breakfast in the hotel the morning after, pastries, toast, the lot lol I didnt though, I had a fry up with black pudding, hash browns and a couple of slices of toast but didnt eat it all. Day after I went on the scales and I'd put about 4lb on. Got back on the atkins wagon and 2lb has come off already so I'm not stressing about it. I think you need a 'treat' day every so often, I do anyway! haha

Take a look at the sticky - lo carb and cheating - hopefully tells you all

Although it is fine to have a planned off diet treat to look forward to my learnings and suggestions would be:
Spread it way out - 6 weeks or so
Make it one main course or meal - no need to go off for the whole day/weekend:)
Enjoy it guilt free, drink tons of water and dont be surprised if you feel rubbish and HUNGRY the next day!
