I'm hoping to start a class tonight. To get all the books I need how much money would I need to take? (just wondering how much cash to take out!). Are there any books / items that you would say you cant live without? Once I join will I be able to track online?
Sorry for so many questions x

Once you join a class you should get a password which will allow you online access. Member fee is £10, if you sign up before 30th july then first class is free, £10 includes the basic books you'll need.
Not sure how much the extra books are but tbh you can find more updated syn values online etc.
Good luck tonight!

As above. On the first night i'd just have a flick through the books in class and have a look at what you think you'd like then in the second week yo ucan buy them if you want to (prices are on the back of the books).

I always buy hi-fi bars (£1.35 per pack of 3 for the lemon, choc orange, mint and cranberry and £1.95 for a pack of 4 choccy ones). You might want to buy the new mag which I can't remember how much it is but less than £2! But it's up to you :)

xx

I'd go with stackhead there.... just join, look through the books you have, you'll have enough to read and understand!!!
Once you've been a couple of weeks, and decided if you're sticking to 1 plan or all 3 take another look, 'cos, there's plenty of recipes on here for a few weeks anyway.
Hi-Fi are great, but again, just take your time, you'll find out that as well as hi-fi bars which are only available in class, there are supermarket alternatives too.

Love your enthusiasm - Good luckx

I joined last week and as above,i only paid the members free of £10 for my first week.I got my pack with books in aand they are very helpful :) You will be able to track online. You get a card, its a bit like chip and pin.You enter the card number and the pin number thats written down in your personal page book, and you will get acess to the online website wich includes a tracker as well as loads of recpies :)

Hi I had researched a lot into the program and new it what I wanted to do so I bought a 12 week countdown. This meant no joining fee, 2 weeks free and a free cook book. It's a fair bit of money though if you aren't sure about sw then maybe give it a couple of weeks though! Xx

Thank you all for your helpful replies. I can't believe how supportive you all are and I haven't even joined yet! It is much appreciated.

Does the online code last for a week?

So nervous!!

What happens if you are unable to attend class one week? I'm going away in a fortnight's time as so won't be able to go to class.
I like the idea of the 12 week countdown but want to try it out first!

You book holiday with the person who takes the money at group. Make sure you book holiday otherwise you'll have to pay for the week you missed!!

xx

It depends I'm going on holiday to Devon for a couple of weeks so am weighing in at group nearest to where I'm staying. With a countdown you can weigh anywhere (bit like the we monthly pass if you've ever done that)! Countdowns seem worth it to me!!

I think the free cookbook thing with the countdown is over now though - and I'm not sure its free membership - just the 2 free weeks - which you get whenever you get a countdown - new member or not. In fact - because the new joining offer is £10 membership, and one week free - I think that you effectively get 3 free weeks at the moment when buying a 12 week countdown (the 2 free weeks for a countdown, plus one free week for new joiners). Might be worth double checking what offers are on, and maybe think about countdowns once you've got an idea of what Slimming world is about. There is also a 6 week countdown where you get 1 week free.

Countdowns are transferable to any group by the way - so if you find one week that you cant make your regular group and you havent booked holiday, you can also go to another group within that same week so you dont lose out - anywhere in the country if needs be!

One thing to be aware of when buying a countdown get your holiday booked first as it can't be added once a countdown has started. I've wasted 2 weeks because of this!!

I wasn't told that when I joined two weeks ago. I was just told remember to tell us a week before if you are not going to be here next week. Not book in advance.

I was told to book in advance, I started with a 12, did a 6 & just started another 12 and each time I've been asked about holidays....if not booked in advance you lose them :-(

My first consultant wasn't any good and didn't tell me anything at all considering I had never done Slimming World. I am convinced that is partly the reason I put on in my firs week. Lack of info
I have transferred to a new group so I am sure it will be explained properly when I book my next block.
We are not going away until November so I don't have anything to worry about yet.
