Ohh welcome to CC'ing. Where did you get your low cal scone?

I baked it :) I halved the recipe I normally use and made sure I got 4 scones out of it. I've tried and tweaked lots of different scone recipes and finally came up with this one. Would you like it?

Yes please :D thank you so much! I've been on the lookout ffor a healthy scone!

Hopefully I've calculated my calories correctly! This is the full recipe. I cut it down today because there was just the two of us (made one big one for her and two smaller ones and I had one of those).

220g flour
pinch of salt
55g stork
25g unbleached golden caster sugar
120ml semi-skimmed milk

Heat the oven to 200. Put the flour, salt and stork in a bowl. Rub it together until it looks like breadcrumbs. Add in the sugar and mix together. Add in the milk. It should be wet but still thick so it holds together. Blob it on to a non-stick baking tray (don't use cutters; it looks much better if it's bumpy). Brush a tiny bit of milk over each one. Bake until brown (probs about 10-15 mins if the oven is really hot).

I sometimes add dried cranberries or apricots (or low fat extra mature cheese ) but that bumps up the calories a bit.

Oh and I like to eat them hot so the low cal margarine goes a bit further because it melts, so usually wait until people arrive before making them.

Thank you so much for the recipe :) I'm going to try and adapt it a little further and I'll let you know how I get on. I'll experiment and use a banana instead of the stork and whole wheat flour instead of the flour. And if they aren't sweet enough with the banana's natural sugars, I'll add a hint of cinnamon. I know - I'm a freak!

I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again for the recipe :)

Sounds good! Not at all. I usually don't like really skinny cakes and pastries but if you perfect a recipe, let me know! :)
