A daily menu thread for those dukaneers making the tricky transition to consolidation

I'll kick off with today's menu.

B: skipped (I know, I know - but I had a guest sleeping 3 feet from the kitchen and I didn't want to wake her!
I drank water and picked up a white coffee on the way to work.

Snack: Bag of biltong, cherry tomatoes, water

Lunch: wholemeal roll, ham, 2 babybell cheese, tomatoes, water

Snack: ?????

Dinner: I'm working late - must shop on the way home for protein - lots of salad in the fridge, finish with a gallette, plums simmered with vanilla and greek yogurt.

Not a good day, plan wise, but guests and loss of appetite have turned thing upside down.

Considering my poor menu posted on other thread this is looking good. Do you suffer with not wanting to eat alot or just occasionally? I could happily stick with the Dukan cruise diet. I am going to need to get more imaginative.

So this is how yesterday ended up (not good)

B: skipped (I know, I know - but I had a guest sleeping 3 feet from the kitchen and I didn't want to wake her!
I drank water and picked up a white coffee on the way to work.

Snack: Bag of biltong, cherry tomatoes, water

Lunch: wholemeal roll, ham, 2 babybell cheese, tomatoes, water

Snack: No snack -
never got around to it
Dinner: Ended up working until 10pm, too late to shop, no appetite to eat out. So dinner ended up being a tub of mixed roast nuts and a cup of tea.

I got home at 10.30, and forced myself to make a gallette (the only way I could face oatbran), and ate it with lemon juice, then crashed.

Not good.

Today?

Better, I hope

Breakfast: Galette, tea
Lunch: Wholemeal roll, 2 babybel, ham

Hmm - I need to eat veg and fruit with that, somehow, but the offerings at Tesco look foul.

Dinner: I think I'll get a tuna salad from pret, and work on again.

(I really don't know where my appetite has gone - I was eating huge amounts last week)

ETA: Maybe it's a hangover from the migraine?

Oh you poor thing looks like you're struggling a bit... My last two days have been conso friendly (and no more carb meals till Weds!) so here you go (sorry 3 TB of oatbran a day, just drop one of my snacks..): I've still got visitors here so cups of tea and biscuits are frequent, and I need all my willpower not to have a choc biscuits so there may be occasional over-use of the ginger oatbran biscuits:

B: dukan porridge (1 tb oatbran and 1/2 wheat) with 1 incorporated egg, fromage frais and sliced Kiwi fruit
S: carrot sticks, small slice of bread with FF fromfrais
L: 6 little cottage cheese & oatbran 'cakes' (=1 TB oatbran, recipe to follow) with dukan coleslaw and some leftover roasted Veg from the night before. jelly.
S: Ginger biscuit (1/2 tb oatbran) made along the lines of my crispbread recipe, with added splenda and ginger.
D: Aubergine Moussaka, including cheese ration, with some steamed Kohlrabi instead of potatoes. Chocolate Tofu creme.
S: Ginger biscuit as above

Today:
B: Dukan porrige with egg as above, plain yoghurt and sliced melon.
S: Cherry toms from the Garden
L: wholemeal&Rye bread with philly EL and ham, coleslaw. (fruit)Yoghurt
S: ??
D: Butternut chicken curry, sweetened yoghurt or fromfrais for dessert, or possibly melon or a FEW cherries :eek:
S: ginger biscuit or yoghurt or plum

Oooh Anja - all I can say is YUM. Reading that has almost made me hungry at last!

Lots of lovely stuff.

It's not good - lack of appetite + long hours + the climax of a project I've been working towards for eight years = not enough of the right kind of food

At least I haven't been truffling away at the wrong kind of food...

How long have you got left on this project? Yay on the not eating the bad food though, you must feel pleased about that.

Anjuschka, your menus have put me to shame and have inspired me to actually try and seek another goal - fit it all in.

So today's menu is:
B - Oatbran porridge with pear (was ok but at least I got my oatbran as I ususually have it as a galette with the evening meal.
L - Ryvitas and quark with a bit of a salad
D - Spaghetti bolognaise with parmesan cheese
Haven't decided on any snacks yet but plenty in.

> How long have you got left on this project?

As long as it takes, I'm afraid. It's like climbing K2 - I can almost see the summit, and there is every reason to make a last push to reach it, but it's the most difficult 100m of the whole climb.

Wednesday Conso PP

B: Gallette
L: Chicken with chopped coriander
S: Cottage Cheese topped with toffee yogurt (yes - I know it sounds weird, but it reminds me of sea salt caramel
D: Steak and egg/frozen yogurt with ginger

Mmmmmm- much better!

So a PP day is much easier? I feel that way. I managed to eat all my extras including my pasta yesterday so was pleased. I also ate a few other naughty bits, a couple bites of a batch of cookies I made that everyone was raving about (yes they were good), out to book club last night and ate a few crisps and a chocolate biscuit. To be honest I could have easily not had them but I am getting a bit concerned about my weight loss. I am now down 1.5lbs this week.

B - Yoghurt
L - Tuna and salad
D - Roast chicken and vegetables
S - Ryvita with cheese and an apple

Don't panic about the weightloss - it happened to me too, but 2 months in seems to have stablised.

Yes - pps are easier, because, well, it's just pp, same old same old :D

To be honest - I'd be happy to eat like this for the rest of my life - two sociable meals a week with wine and desert, two servings of beans or pasta, fruit almost everyday and as much veg, fish, meat, eggs and dairy as I want - I imagine any of my ancestors would have sold their soul to be able to eat this well!

Thursday:
off for a 30 hour "team building" outing to the country

Breakfast: huge -to use up what's in the fridge (defrosting accident!)

Lunch: tea, some slices of chicken, 1/2 a mullerlight toffee

Dinner: Gala, preordered - prawn cocktail + steak & salad + cheese and biscuits - with wine

Friday:
Breakfast: will have to Dukanise whatever is available at the hotel

Dinner: dry stir-fried chicken with veg (whatever has survived in the fridge). Gallette.

Hi Consos found you thank you for the links to get me here. Well my meal plans are lil difficult because I work strange hours. I work 1 day 6pm-2am the the other 4 days 4pm-till midnight. I have my beautiful daughter on my 2 days off. So sometimes I have breakfast/lunch which is normally a sandwich with my daily cheese with chicken or ham yummy. I then have a yogurt as a snack. For my main meal I have either tuna or salmon salad or steak or chicken with green beans and carrots. I have my apple as another snack and finish the day off with yogurt and oatbran. My yogurt has always been greek and plain. I also have lean ham and boiled eggs always on hand in the fridge.
Peter.

Hi Guys, I officially made it to conso today so here I am:)
I'm a bit worried about reintroducing the foods that I haven't eaten for a while so gonna start off with an apple a day and maybe cheese and see what happens with my weight. I am looking forward to my first gala meal and that will be over the weekend as I'm going camping today:D

Vegaspool you seem really sorted which is excellent. Did you find the transition hard from cruise to conso?

Louschu - congratulations and well done. How are you feeling? I was so excited to get to my goal but then struggled to fit in the food. I will say that the cheese still tastes amazing! I have been doing conso two weeks and have lost another 2lbs which was not the plan. Now trying to up my food a bit.

B - yoghurt
L- tuna or chicken salad
D - pepper steak (strips of beef cooked with onions, tomatoes and peppers in soy sauce, garlic and ginger sauce) galette (which I didn't fit in yesterday :-( )
S - apple.
Need to fit in the bread and the cheese somewhere.

Jaqys is right. I struggled and worried myself silly for quite a while. Eventually, though, it all seemed to even out.

Whilst I'm still 8lbs (was 9lbs last week) under my goal, I seem to have stuck there and haven't continued to spiral downwards, which was my great fear.

What also helped me was to make little changes, such as slightly increase the weight of my bread ration. If you continue to lose weight, you may wish to try doing something like that.

I hope that helps, but please let me know if I can offer any support or advice.
