They have arrived!

So my books finally arrived in the post, they are the 2009 books though.

Has anything drastically changed that I should know about? is semi-skimmed milk still 250ml?

I am hoping to start properly on Monday, as I have no food currently! but I have another dilemma, I'm working today and tomorrow! I have no time to go shopping for food, by the time I finish work all the supermarkets around me are closed, there isn't a 24hr one near :(.

Might have to put it off a few more days until I can go shopping..

Motivation is already lacking!! :sigh:

Alot has changed since 2009, however the basics are still the same! Did the person you got them from tell you that they were old books? If so, maybe send them back! It is probably just as cheap to go along to a class and joining to get the Uptodate stuff and new member talk to fully explain it-just my opinions tho x

This is my second time doing slimming world, The books were originally mine and had them sent from my parents house. If I do join a class it can only basically be for the one class as I do not have the money to continue going. I also work odd shifts so going every week would not be possible.

Ah right! Sorry, didnt understand that from the first post! As I said the basics are the same-not sure if the 2009 books have extra easy plan in-but if not, there are some excellent thread on here that will help :) good luck x

I believe shift workers don't have to pay for meetings they can't attend because of work, but you have to let the consultant know in advance. At least, that was the ruling last time I went to group, about eight years ago.

Like Welshtigger says, it might be worth going to the one class just to get the up to date books and explanations. There might also be special joining fees offers on too. Just found this offer:

I'd just looked at groups near me and there's one which has 3 different times on a Tuesday, I might be able to work it out that I can go to one without it being during work times, for example this week I could go to the 11am one, then next week go to the 6pm one. I might be able to push the money to make this happen until I move house in about 5 weeks time. Hopefully I can then get all the information I'll need to continue on my own and with the help of this thread when anything changes!

Looking through the 2009 books, there are a few changes which I'd benefit from, for example in the 09 books there's no mention of philli light being anything but syns, but I found out from here that it can be used as a HEX. They have a bit of information about the extra easy plan but it was brand new in 09, maybe they have more information on it nowadays.

I also found out that I've put on a stone since the last time I joined :(

Yes definately sounds the best idea, if you can manage the cost for a couple of weeks, and in that time you can make full use of the SW online syns, and make lists etc of your favourite healthy extras and syn values.

Thanks for this :) I think its definitely worth joining on Tuesday now! :D
It will also give me some time to go shopping and I will let the C know I'm a shift worker from the start.
