2 days off plan, kinda scared

Hi all

This may sound a bit silly but I am planning 2 days off Exante this weekend for my daughters 1st birthday and work family day and I'm really scared.

I have been pretty much 100% for 10 weeks and am worried about eating normal food again.

I know I'm likely to put on some weight and I'm not keen on this idea after seeing it only go in one direction recently, DOWN :)

Also worried that it'll be really hard to get back on the wagon after.

Any advice most welcome

If you are not planning on staying in ketosis then it will probably be very difficult starting again. It certainly has been for me in the past.

Think about it carefully, you don't have to celebrate your daughter's birthday with food. It will still be a great day.

It is hard, but only if you are not 100% focused on getting back on it! In the past i have had days off, and some are harder then others. You could always try and eat food which will keep you in ketosis, or what will do the minimal damage. i went on an all inclusive holiday 2 years when on CD, and i could not wait to get back and have my shakes, but then i was eating & drinking to the extreme! Good luck hun, continue with your water maybe make it a WS day??? x x

Its hard to do celebrations, I know because we have 4 birthdays in the next 30 days including my own and it was hubbys birthday the other day. If you are going to eat something make sure its protein ... I made little coctail sticks with cheese and good ham on for me, although this isnt on the exante plan I didnt have much and I felt like I was having party food. Also in the freezer I have individually wrapped portions of chicken with herbs ... please try something like that and skip the cake.

Restarting is hard - but I think it depends on your mindset. When I was on holiday last October I came off and went right back on when I came back, partly because I had a wedding to diet for. I came back off in February for no reason other than I needed a break - and I only came back on last week. I think if you choose to come off and have planned what you will eat - and that should be your choice, so cake, wine and all that - if that is your choice that is fine. But do be clear in your head you will put on weight if you do that. It will come off quickly again if you go straight back on plan - though as has been said it will be tough going the first few days. Whatever you decide have a great day and enjoy it.

Thanks all for your comments

I feel like I do need a short break, but I'm not giving up

I have it set in my mind that I will allow myself to eat things that I'd like to this weekend, but not to excess. Then I will be back on plan on Monday morning.

I have my 30th in Nov which is a big motivator for me and I am determined to look great for my party.
