Dear Duckaneers/Duckies

well next week, my girlfriends and I are off to the Rewind Festival ( hits of the 80's for saddos like me). We are camping (glamping), and there are strict instructions that no naked flames are used on the campsite - which means I either eat cold food, or use the burger van set up they have. As much as I love a bacon roll as much as the next woman, I am enjoying the feeling of a loose waistband too much to jepodise (sp?) my diet. Therefore ducks, what shall I take to eat? I am quite prepared to be P/P or P/V and adjust the weeks diet around it. Also bear in mind, that there are no refrigeration facilities - so its going to be canned ham - but what else?......

only 27 hours of attack left! - watch out tomatoes...

Tins of Tuna, salmon, sardines. Tomatoes and any veggies that don't need refridgerating. Cook up galettes or muffins in advance and go off site and buy some fresh stuff once a day. I like tuna with celery salt and balsamic vinegar. I then chop up loads of veggies like kohl rabi (does not need refridgerating), turnip etc and eat as a salad. I could eat that every day.

I am sure the more experienced will be able to give you some ideas too. Will you be near the burger van with onions frying! I can actually smell it now :-O

Definitely take prepared galettes or muffins. Can you take a cool box/bag - should last you the first day or two at least.

i was about to say a cool bag too, you could freeze the item and leave in the cool bag so that it will defrost and its only once it reaches 5 degrees that it will start to grow bacteria.
i second the suggestions above, make your oat bran bits before and keep them in sealed bags, try to keep them as airtight as possible as ive read that the muffins can go to tasting yeuch very quickly.
good luck!

In extremis, if there are really no other options - think "Atkins", ie - break the rules of fat, keep the rules on carbs,

So - eat the burger and cheese, and throw away the bun.

But - only if you have to.
