Mood swings with dieting

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem as me, or can tell me where I'm going wrong? I tend to find with my diet that either my weight is going down so slowly it's barely noticeable or it jumps down. The problem is that when I'm in a phase of it going down quickly I'm permanently hungry and I feel really tired and emotional and cry and snap alot. I've tried to find a happy medium between the 2 extremes but I honestly can't seem to find one, it's either hungry and emotional or the weight stays the same. Help! I'm in a phase of losing weight quickly at the moment and I swear that if this goes on much longer I'll end up being carted to the nearest insane asylum.

I get very snappy and grumpy when my cal deficits very high or when I've gone too long without eating? So I try an eat regularly and get some decent protein fixes in every meal?

I can be a right pain in the bum when I'm dieting. Like Legomom say's try to eating regulary. I try to make sure I take something to sanck on mid morning and afternoon just to keep my blood sugar levels up.. Seems to make a difference :)

Definately my family avoid me like the plague when my sugar gets too low - it is a good idea to have little and often to avoid that - but not always possible. Still if you are losinbg weight quickly think about that and it might put you back in a good mood!!!

Thanks, you have no idea how much better it makes me feel to know that other people get really hungry and grouchy too. I always feel a slight twinge of envy when I read on someone else's diary that their diet completely fills them up every day as I feel permanently hungry. It did occur to me that when I'm being really good I might have a bit of malnutrition, I tend to eat soup and bread from the work canteen for lunch but I'd be hard put to swear on how many actual vegetables make it into that soup, maybe I'll switch to salads for a few days and add in a mid afternoon piece of fruit and see if that improves things.

Lass: Yes you're completely right, I should be feeling really happy that my weight is going down a bit faster at the moment! And don't get me wrong, I am happy about it, It just screws up my blood sugar so much that I get really tearful and emotional.

:DThe first few weeks i was the same, but i make sure i eat regulary and if i exercise i eat some of my exercise cals back so i am not too hungry :D
