Gone a bit quiet
A friend of mine wants to go on this diet but when she tried the oat bran she got a reaction on day 3 (swelling throat and sore eyes). She's gluten and wheat intolerant, and clearly there is some gluten in the oatbran. She's very disappointed as she feels it will be hard to stick to the diet longer term without some sort of equivalent. Does anyone have any ideas?
I've been looking hard at Buckwheat. It doesn't have the same properties as oats, in the gelatinous and water attracting department, but I think it would be a good substitute from Conso on. I've posted a link to the recipe I've found but not tried it yet. If anyone does, please let me know.
Buckwheat is high in several minerals, including Rutin, which is good for joint inflammation.
