Good one you for trying to quit the dreaded weed! It took me nearly 30 years, but I finally quit for good 8 years ago this February and have never looked back, although this was admittedly after many failed attempts over the years :sigh:

With the money I have saved, I have bought a brand new car and we have had several holidays too. I still put away what I would have spent on 100 fags a week and when I have nice little sum saved, I decide what to spend it on. Keeps me motivated and it's money I would have sent up in smoke - I can't say I can't afford to do it 'coz if I could afford to smoke it I can afford to save it!

It is quite frightening how much this potentially lethal habit cost me over the years and my only regret is that I didn't quit for good sooner than I did.

Keep on quitting Sarah - one day at a time - good on you :D and good luck with your weight loss too - tough to do both together.... you have my respect :)

Evening Sarah xx

What a great, positive post! Your food looks super, and it appears you've totally got the hang of this sw lark! Well done hunni xx

I think its a great idea to give up smoking at the same time, as you are focusing so much on your food that you won't have time to think about smelly old fags. Keep it up hun...think of the great example you're setting for your daughter. I have just lost my dad to lung cancer, even tho he never smoked a cigarette in his life...please don't increase your chances of getting this pig of a disease by starting smoking again xx

Take care and be proud of yourself!

Thanks for the lovely reply, i am so sad to read about your dad especially as he had not done anything as stupid as smoking to deserve it, life is so incredibly unfair and cruel. Your message will stay with me and keep me focused in weaker moments although i am determined not to have any this time, i had packed in the revolting habit for almost four years until last summer and have been on/off since then. This time is for good! Thanks again for taking the time x x

Hello, I'm new here too. Sounds like you are doing really well - both with SW and with smoking :D

Hello stitchy, i have only been posting for four days but it is so motivating, far more effective for me than weighing in in class. Good luck to you - will you be posting a food diary?
