lost 10.5lbs last week chick

Yes the first week loss was mostly water from your glycogen stores. This gives a wonderful but misleadingly huge loss! From now on you will be burning - and therefore losing - fat. Second week losses are almost always way less than first. Next week if you stick to the plan you should see a slightly higher loss but if you don't, please do not panic or lose heart.

I did CD to lose three stones out of a total of ten and although I found it horribly difficult I loved the fast losses. I didn't stick to it 100% all the time because I just couldn't. I am full of admiration for all those that can x

Atkins is not a fast weight loss diet. It is a new way of eating and of relating to food and nutrition. I think it is the best weight loss and maintenance method, around!

i'm not on Atkins chick

I was puzzled a little at my 2nd week weigh in on Monday..only 3lb...my Cambridge Lady said she was pleased with that and often on weeks 2 and 3 the loss from week 1 is much less....I still thought it might be a couple of pounds more...but came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter staying focused how ever many pounds its a loss and going in the right direction...keep with it I think there are going to ups and downs with losses on this diet.

Gosh sorry ha ha. I realised that too late! ha ha.

Actually it is even easier to explain the difference in losses, and for the same reason cos like Atkins you are low carbing. All the glycogen and other stuff still applies!

10.5 is a fantastic loss and now it is 11.5. Next week you could easily lose at least another 3lb and that would make a stone in three weeks!

I sometimes wish I could stick to a VLCD. I could once but no longer.

Keep up the good work!

Week 2-3 losses can sometimes be as little as 0.5lbs but it all averages out at the end. I've written a lot on here about the fact that you may have one or two weeks a month where you STS or lose hardly anything. Your weigh-in booklet has a sentence on this on the back. You are not a machine, you will not lose 3.5lbs a week every week, but over 10 weeks, you will lose that as the average (unless you start at a BMI of 28 or below)

I lost 12lbs in weel 1, and 4lbs in week 2, and my cwpc said that I should have lost more in week 2 than 4lbs. She said that I wasnt drinking enough, but after a 12lb loss, I was more than happy with 4lbs. Im on the dreaded week 3, wi tomorrow, I would love a 5lbs loss, but if I can average 3.5lbs off a week, thats my 1 stone a month, so that would make me happy.

Its probably better that you don't keep losing huge 7-8lb amounts a week anyway as not all of it will be fat then, there'll be some muscle loss, be happy with 3-4lbs a week and think of how long it would have taken you to lose 11.5lbs on Weight Watchers..

On average you will lose 1 stone per month....now, how that is achieved will vary weekly.
In answer to the OP, just because you have only lost 1 lb so far this week doesn't mean that you wont lose any more by the time of your official weigh in....mine used to come off last minute!
However, if you do have a small(ish) loss on some weeks, you have to average it out. It doesn't mean that overall you aren't losing the suggested 1 stone per month.

thanks so much for everyone's answers, i feel so much more positive :)
