Weight Loss Boot Camp

My weight has been yo- yoing for so long now, loosing 1lb one week and putting on 2lbs the next week. I was fed up of:
  • Not achieving my goal or even starting on the path to my goal
  • Having to spend 3 hours trying on clothes and taking them off before finding something remotely decent to were out so for the past year I have been saving and by that time I am sweating like and pig and to p’d off to go anywhere,
  • Avoiding mirrors because I hated what I would see
  • Having to buy the unfashionable “frumpy” clothes
(the list goes on!)

I started saving up to have a tummy tuck/lipo – who was I kidding, I knew it was going to be expensive but at the time it seemed like a light at the end of my gloomy tunnel.

But after going to hynoslim (hynotherapy slimming sessions) I realised that all the faddy diets are not something you can keep up and surgery will work but does not stop you from putting it back on! I decided to use that money and go to a Boot camp.

I opted for on with a more Holistic approach not one of those military ones. It was brilliant – don’t get me wrong it was hard work – exercising from 07.30 till 08.30 before getting breakfast and then doing 3-4 hr hikes each day.

It was a hard slog but for me it paid off – I lost (according to them) 13lb 2oz (9lb by my scales) and 1” of my bust (which I never had it to give away in the first place) 5” off my waist and 3” of my hips.

So I was extremely pleased. It was scarye being back home and having to do it on your own. Within the first 4 weeks I gained 3lb :(

Since the beginning of this month I got in the “zone” telling myself if I don’t step it up a notch all that hard work and money will have gone to waste. So I have been going to the gym 5 times a week for 45-60 mins each time and I continue to watch what I eat, making sure I have 3 meals and 2 snacks.

Have any of you been to a boot camp? If so, what was your experience like.

If you haven’t, have you considered it and if so, what has prevented you from going?

I'd really like to go on the GI Jane one - but I just can't afford it as it's over £600 for a week and I could get a carribean holiday for that lol!

I think you have got the right attitude of not wanting it to go to waste and making sure you keep up the exercise though - well done and good luck!!

I would love to go to a boot camp but I too couldn't afford it. Saying that last Sunday here was just like a boot camp!! I really pushed to boat out but it's a case of keeping it up.

I really need a personal trainer to shove me but can't afford one of those either!!

Sounds like you are doing so well!!

Thank you both. The one I went too was very expensive and I coudl only afford it because I had been saving for either a tummy tuck/lipo for the past year or so and that was the money i used. i could have had a family holiday for the price I paid  It was the boost I really needed - I needed something to show me that I COULD do it!

I know what you mean about needing a personal trainer - I need that too, someone to push me the little bit further. I am lucky at the gym i go to (which is at the back of my house - no excuse not to go) I speak to a few regular goers and we motivate each other. Also one of the guys who happens to be a family friend, works there and trains there too and earlier this week he spent an hour with me doing a circuit. When i felt like I could not continue he would encourage me to continue - so my own free personal trainer.

My daughter has also just signed up there for a month so we are now going together - 2hrs before we going and weirdly enough I am excited & cant wait. Woudl not have said that a few months ago :)
