Flapjacks

I tried my first flapjack today. I had tasted a piece of one before I started and it was really rank yuk! But today I felt I wanted one and so I did for breakfast. And I have to say the nibbling and chewing was really enjoyable and the flavour not so bad now seen as my palate must be nicely cleansed (day 10).

Just remember you shopldnt have flapjacks or soup on the first week so you get used to the whole not chewing and bland flavours. THis is to help you get through and last longer on the diet.

I wonder has anyone tried the coconut one or even tried to put them in the oven to heat them?

I tried them both and hated them :(, they were like cardboard!!

I am starting refeed next Tuesday and using the flap jacks,as that Saturday I fly to Austria for the week and it will be easier to take flap jacks through airport security that sachets of powder...I am hoping they taste ok...heating them sounds a good idea?? Next Tuesday will be my 4th weigh in then it's on refeed for a week, holiday for a week and backnon LT TFR 2nd august. Xx

I really enjoyed them today but for taste reasons. They were bland and chewy. Shame they couldnt be nicer but it was great to chew. could only take small pieces at a time. Not a bit into a biscuit style..

i started having the flapjacks the first week of the diet. the pharmacist gave me a coconut one to try and i went back and exchanged a bunch of shakes for them. for the first few weeks, my routine was a 'latte' shake in the moring, a flapjack for lunch and a soup for dinner. it takes me a really long time to eat a flapjack; i've had my friends amazed as i nibble away. only tried the peanut ones for one week, and decided i much preferred the coconut. i like the dessicated coconut texture; plenty to chew on! i have to have it with a hot drink for dunking though. and i've found, in the warmer weather, i am leaning towards more shakes and no flapjack/soup. you must tell us what it's like if you heat it up!

I moved totally to flapjacks in week 5. I don't have time to make the shakes up in the van during the day so I munch away on the flapjacks. One at 10am, one at Lunchtime, one at 4pm and one at 7pm.

It breaks up my day and spreads the full feeling out.

Sometime I leave them on the dash and they warm up a little and they are a little nicer but the Coconut ones are defo better because they seem damper, less chewy. Just make sure your keeping up on your water if your on the flapjacks.

Now I might change to taking the shakes at the weekend when I'm not working just for some variation.

I'm 49 days in and 100% all the way

Cheers for that. How long did you say your in? Your tastebuds should be shot to pieces. So they should be gorgeous.

Bear in mind it's 2 flapjacks for every shake so that's gonna be 6 for you I think.

I'm actually gonna stick on flapjacks because I got cravings for something to munch on today and the flapjacks would have fixed that. I had my shakes and that took away the hunger but I still wanted something to nibble. I stayed 100%.

Feel free to ask me anything.

100% for 55 days!!!!!

Wow.. Welldone on your 100% so far captjames!! I messed up yesterday but I'm back on it today.. I tried the peanut flapjack, my pharmacist gave me a free sample ( it was out of date though!! Found this out after I had nibbled a piece!! ) I hated it !! I don't usually like peanuts so maybe that's why? Whereas I love coconut so not sure wether to try these and like you say I can break it up and have one at a time rather than just the one shake.. Really not sure though..

Sakora if I pluck up the courage to get the coconut ones I will attempt heating them up and let you know..
Emerald maybe if you asked for a free sample? ( just make sure they are in date lol )
Keep up the good work everyone and take care xx

peanut - coconut = they all taste the same.
After eating half of it I almost ended throwing up...

NEVER EVER AGAIN!

You need to wait until at least week 4. This gets you out of the habit of eating first and kills your tastebuds.

They will taste rotten if you don't wait that long.

Best of luck and feel free to ask me anything.

damn it, i thought you could get them after week one. So can i not even cook my shakes and make them into cookie type muffin things?

As if you can make cookies can you? Really? Hmm!

well, of a fashion..... i got the idea off the exante forum actually...... i did it with 60ml of water to make the mousse then nuked it in the micro.... was strange lol but nice to chew somethin. on exante its 140ml of water, so if i try it again ill do it with more water and cook it in the oven. think it needs a sweetener in it though. Gunna stick to shakes/soups though now as advised though until week 4

What's the soup like foo? I'm a bit dubious?? X

it needs salt, though i didnt add it, cos i need to wean myself off salt, im a big salt freak, and i work on a stroke unit! so if i carry on, ill soon be a patient on there! but it was a welcome change havin something savoury n wasnt that bad. ive emailed you hun x
