Two nights ago I told my partner, "You need to STOP trying to get me to eat, wanting to go out for meals, scheduling food-oriented things for us to do, because I am ON... A... DIET!" I told him it was really important to me to give TS a try and have no food for a while. He acted like he agreed and understood.

Last night, he comes home and says "Oh, I scheduled us to go to my parents' for a barbecue next week." ..........................%"£"$%£""$$!!!!!!!!!!

i told him no, I am not going! And he should have known better than to tell them I would! The thing is, i have no doubt that I could go, and not eat, just socialise. Which I would be more than happy to do. But his father is really strange about food. He wants everyone to eat, eat, eat. If you aren't eating what he thinks is 'enough', he will hassle you in front of everyone. Many times there have been foods there that I simply do not like, and he will not let up about it the entire meal, hassling me to 'just try it', even going so far as snatching my plate away and putting some of the food on it. He is really, really weird. So, me going over there and socialising without food is out of the question.

When I reminded my partner about how is dad is, and said that it's a shame I can't just go to socialise, he says he sees his dad's point, and what's the point of going to a barbecue if you're not going to eat? What's the point, indeed--maybe to... SEE people you care about?? Omg, and yes my partner is overweight and an over-eater.

I just love all this sabotage.
