This Is Truly Getting Ridiculous!

I first came across Minimins by searching for reviews on the Exante diet. The feedback on here was so fantastic, off I went to the website and spent £100 on the bumper pack. I lasted a day. I knew the diet wouldn't work for me, and it would have been likely that I would have put on weight. Fortunately I was able to see all the products and got my money back :D

Anyway, so that was a couple of weeks ago, and I've since put on 2lb :O I lost 1 stone last year, and I'm just a couple of lbs away from having put it all back on. Gutted.

I desperately want to get down to 10st which is now 2.5stone to lose. I'm currently at a point in my life where I don't know what's happening from September onwards. I went for an interview last week for a PGCE placement, but I am waiting to hear whether I got in or not. I'm not getting my hopes up. However, I would love to uni a lot slimmer than I am now, which means I have to act fast. If I don't get in, I will be returning to my job which will involve weekly swimming lessons (I work at a school). I certainly don't want to be in that pool looking like this!

I've decided that if I keep a diary on here, it might help me keep focused. I just need to be honest with myself, and if I cheat I need to admit to it.

So I've opted for good old fashioned calorie counting, and desperately want to stay between 1000-1300. My main problem at the moment is sugar intake. I've decided to give up Aspartame, which means everything I consume now has calories in. Being a diet coke fiend for many years, I've never had to worry about including drink calories in my daily intake. It's taking a while to adjust! I'm on Day 3 now of being Aspartame free.

Basically that's my story.

The plan - 1000-1300cals + 45 mins of Zumba on the Wii.

Start Weight - 12st 7.2lb

Hi hun,

welcome to ccing. The guys on here will keep you on the straight and narrow, and support you through everything.
I personally feel that for ccing, your calorie intake is a little low! I'm no expert, but I worry that you are not putting enough fuel in your engine, especially with all the exercise! You may crash and burn.

My advice (if not already done it) would be to join Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com

You might have already signed up, but if not, it comes highly reccomended. :)

It will take all your stats into account and tell you how many calories you should eat per day to get you to goal. We all use it, and swear by it.

Let us know if you join, so we can all be your friends on it. (like facebook)

Good luck hun :D

Funny you should mention it, I just signed up! It told me to eat 1200 cals a day before exercise. Having spent many years to try and lose weight, I find that I can't eat loads of calories. It's really very annoying. So that's why my aim was for 1000-1200.

Anyway, I'm quite excited by myfitnesspal.com - I wish i'd discovered it sooner!!
My username is csl003 by the way.

Thank you all for the luck. I think I'm gonna need it!!

I haven't heard of myfitnesspal.com I joined food focus, I might check out myfitnesspal.com also, see if it is any better.

So I've put all my food in for the day on myfitnesspal.com and I'm really quite surprised about what I eat. I will have gone over by 5 whole calories!! lol.

However what has surprised me is that I've still got 28g carbs, 12g of fat and 1g of protein left. I would honestly have said that I would be nearer maxing out my carbs than my protein. I try to stick to low fattish stuff so that's not so much of a surprise.

Hopefully I won't add anymore to my food diary. I've already taken into consideration my dinner for tonight. I haven't added my zumba-ing yet, just in case I don't go through with it. I hope to though.

Right off to read some more of your wonderful diaries :D

You should go through with the Zumba class, I personally think that it is highly addictive.

It's Zumba on the Wii so really don't have any excuse haha. Might as well start as I mean to go on!!

I have Zumba for the PS3 which is what I do on a weds and sat when I have my days off from the gym.

So yesterday was Day 1 (again...) and it went OK.

I started off really well and was completely committed until after my dinner. It all then went slightly downhill. I mean, it could have been a lot worse, but I didn't keep to my calories. Grrr.

I did my 45 mins of Zumba and that just made me really hungry!

I really like myfitnesspal - I love that it's easy to keep track of what you're eating and what you're burning off, and I LOVE the estimated weight loss in 5 weeks time. I felt guilty that as I tracked my extra food, my weight loss decreased by 3lb!! That was quite a shock! Who knew a couple of hundred calories could make such a difference.

Anyway, today is going to be a much better day. I know as I eat less it will become easier - it's just getting to that point that's the trickiest.

When did dieting get so difficult?!?!

By logging my food and activity on MFP I'm beginning to see why I haven't been losing weight even when I think I've been good.

When I was at school, I embarked upon a reduced calorie diet, and simply died if I went over 1200 calories (even by 1 calorie), but I remember eating actual food. Nowadays I feel like by the time I've had my breakfast I've consumed all my calories. Well that's a bit of an exaggeration, but hopefully you can see what I'm getting at!

Do you know what annoys me... 'to maintain your weight you must eat 2000 calories a day if you're a woman'. If I eat 2000 calories I'll put on weight. I think coming out with statements like that make those on diets resent watching what they eat, and if anything, such 'motivational' rubbish has the opposite effect and we try to rebel and eat more. If we all listened to our own bodies, without such statements sitting at the back of our minds, we probably would all be a lot healthier. Well a lot of people anyway.

Anyway, this rant is all a result of how many calories I have consumed today. Too many. I know we all have our setbacks, but this is just day 2. At least I can look at the food diaries and see where I'm going wrong and where all my calories are buggering off too! I have my suspicions. Even so, when I submitted my diary entry tonight, MFP told me that I'd lose 1 measly lb if I were to keep eating like this over the next 5 weeks. Errrr I don't think so!

Rant over!

Lol it is a bit of a mind flip!! 1200 WILL stretch surprisingly far with a few careful tweaks :) and you'll be shedding the poundage in no time :)

So I suddenly had a brain wave last night.

After a sneaky mid week weigh in and a 1/2lb GAIN (!!!), my mind went to the idea of Slimfast. But I know that I'd get to mid afternoon and be starving and be very aware of not having had any proper food. Then I suddenly remembered the Special K diet.

I'm going to do it for 2 weeks - cereal for breakfast and lunch and then a healthy dinner. It tends to be lunch that ruins my daily calorie intake, and I think having a controlled lunch like this may ween me off food at lunch time. Well obviously I'd still have some food - you know what I mean.

And of course still Zumba!

Hope it works for you!
