Hey all
I'm going Disney florida next may and taking my will be 3.5 year old daughter with me I'm wondering if anyone knows the car seat laws for Florida. I've seen a trunki booster seat which over here she couldn't use till she was 4 as our law states booster seat from 4years. It's a backpack too so figured she could use for her hand luggage and then sit on as a booster on plane! But need to know if this is ok for in a car over there as don't really want to be getting a fine lol xxx

Never been to the States but would suggest ringing the American Embassy or going on their web site.

Or go on a car hire site, eg Dollar, I'm sure the regulations about car seats will be on there somewhere;)

Thank you I'll do some looking around got a while yet just trying to be prepared xxx

Maria. This is the reply from my friend in Florida. As you will see she's spoken to a serving police officer..Hope this explains it all for you :)
The same "age" restrictions apply here for the car seat/booster ages, however, and this come from a police man here, If the child is in a car seat/booster seat they are happy(the policeman) and even if you where stopped the child "is 3 1/2" you tell them the child is 4, they are not going to make you prove it. The car seats and booster seat are usually available for free from the car company you hire the car from, provided you request them ahead of time. Barry (my boyfriend) told me about the reserving the carseat/booster seat, and not having to pay for it. If you find out what company they are driving with I can call from this end and make sure!!! The police here are very strict about kids being buckeled up, and will stop you if they see a child un buckeled, so getting the car seat situation sorted before they come here will be a very good idea.
