Bad Weekend Camping!

BrightonMark

Trying... Really Trying.
*hangs head in shame*

So... went camping this weekend with the lads, I had figured as long as I was doing red days then it wouldnt be too hard to stick to considering we would be cooking mostly on a BBQ and so had forked out on leaner meat etc, had taken vodka and d. coke to drink instead of beer, had vowed to go for a run every morning instead of using my usual exercise bike.

Good plan, but it all went to the dogs!

Burgers on a BBQ are awesome, and they of course are better in a bun, with ketchup, cheese, and are much better washed down with a beer, the thought of running after a lagered up night in tent made me want to die!

All in all I put on 5 lbs over the 3 day weekend, FIVE POUNDS!

Back on the wagon today but could do with hearing about some horror holidays to make sure i'm not the only one that falls apart when I leave my little routine bubble! xx

Hi Mark, sounds like you had a great weekend, please don't be so hard on yourself, I put on 8lbs in 4 days at my brothers wedding in Malaga.. Had planned to go to the gym everyday blah blah blah but ended up drinking solidly for 4 days & eating crap! Only sobered up when flew home & stepped on the scales.. Good news is I lost 8lbs the following week and had learnt my lesson!

Have since been to new York for a week went to the gym everyday, stuck to plan and managed to lose 5lbs that week!

So after all that waffle what I'm trying to say is to learn from it, draw a line under it and get back on track again today and remember all the triggers that made you go off plan this weekend for next time!! :)

right we need to stick together on this one while we are early in the day as i have been totally bad over the weekend
breakfast started ok then i had to get through the rest of the day which may i add is not normally a problem but the last 2 days for some reason have been
ok i havent had any breckfast so far today , just getting the kids ready for school but what meal plans have we got today so we can stick to them and hopefully get through today and stay on track
my weigh in is friday and even though i was greedy past 2 days i really do want to lose

its just food bloat sweetie!!! dont take what the scales say now as the truth - its all the alcohol and fatty foods stuck in your system right now, making you bloated.

I bet come weigh in day it wont be half as bad, and you will lose that in a week easy.

Right back on plan NOW though - before it does become a vulgar reality! xxx

Thanks girls!

I'm usually not bad, and am very good at saying no but there is something about the "holiday state of mind" that pretty much just says "I'm on holiday, so is my diet"

I'm not being too hard on myself as I have lost about 18 lbs so far so know I can work it off BUT I am kind of bummed to have put back on after back to back losses.

Still it was a very good weekend and without sounding like an Alcho but I dont think it would have been such a blast had we not gone through near to £250 booze between the 3 of us!

Did you enjoy it? Then it doesn't matter :D Draw a line and get straight back on the wagon and I am sure you will loose it very quickly, I call it 'Jelly weight', it's a bit of extra wobble but disappears very quickly!

as long as you enjoyed yourself its fine! you sound like your in the right frame of mind to get back on track! i always say to people...its only jelly weight, just make sure you get it off before it sets! Just for the recore, i put 10 pounds on when i went on holiday....xx

I gained 8.5 pound when I went to Disneyland Paris last year - they just don't do any form of healthy meals and by the time I was coming home I was crying out for the Plan! I'm going again in 8 weeks; but figured out a while back that you have to enjoy your life sometimes even if that means coming off the Plan. As if you are so rigid on the Plan; you end up resenting it and going off it anyhow.

I've had a really hard week this week with one thing and another and have been on the Plan 3 days and off the Plan 3 days! Dreading weigh in tomorrow but as my Consultant said to me the other day I can do nothing about what has gone; what is important is how I continue eating.

As long as u enjoyed yourself and had a good laugh, like everyone has said draw a line under it and get back on plan - life does have a habit of getting in the way when u are trying to loose weight but u sound like u will have it sorted in no time xxx

thanks ellebear and every one else ,,,,,, i have been really good today i needed to be though , im sure i will behave the rest of the week now and if i feel like been naughty i will say
i was always rebellious at school i think i sometimes crave it lol
and again thanx xx

Hi Brighton Mark! I was also camping over the weekend (near Arundel if you know it) and completely fell off the wagon!!!! So lets do it together and get back on it! With you all the way :)

Ep

Hi Eponine,

I know Arundel well, I was over Bodium Castle, so actually travelled away from home for it. Having thought back it was a great weekend and worth falling off the wagon, its just horrible to think that a good time costs you a chunk of the hard work loosing the weight in the first place!

Oh well, been good since then! x

Hi Mark,

Bodium is gorgeous too - I used to work in Arundel, now I have to commute to Crawley but we were camping @ Ford. Nice campsite there with a pub if is rains!

So glad you had a good time and just remember all the good you have done so far. You'll be back on track before you know it and you had a great weekend.
How is Brighton today? I love it there - I used to love eating at the Thai tapas near Donatello's :p
