pork

taken from Dukan site:

The diet itself is unchanged; however, there is some new material and adaptations for the American and Canadians. We have adapted the list of 100 foods (67 proteins, 32 vegetables and sugar-free gelatin in the North American edition) to reflect American and Canadian tastes, and what types of foods are readily available to the most people. For example, in France guinea hen and partridge are commonly eaten, while they are not readily available in an American supermarket. Cornish hens, however, are found in many supermarkets. Bison is an excellent source of lean protein available in North America, but not in France, so it is included in the list of 100 foods in the American edition. Pork is not permitted in the Attack and Cruise phases in the French edition, but certain cuts of American pork, like the tenderloin, are so lean that they are included in the US edition.
We have also added more information for vegetarians who wish to use the diet, with recommendations about plant protein products that meet the standards of the diet and are available in the US and Canada.
There are also slightly different exercise guidelines because of a difference in architecture and city layouts between Europe and US/Canada

Are you having pork in cruise?
I have some really lean looking medalions in the freezer.

Interesting Claire - thank you for posting that. If ever you can get hold of the vegetarian differences, it would be great to start a new thread with them as people regularly ask.

Personally I do not eat pork in cruise (which goes without saying as an old timer with the original French book!). I have, however, I admit, had the odd "Atkins breakfast", as I like to call it, with some lean bacon. But I'm talking twice (ok three times!) a year!

Yes, good to have some stickies on vegetarian differences.
