City Girl

So - 2011 has been by far the hardest year of my life. My parents died and I got a divorce. So for the first time in my life I am single (I married at 21) and alone. So in the last 6 months I have put on 2 stone, through going out and basically making myself feel better through a lot of partying. I have a very stressful job in the city, which means I never cook, always eat out and tend to cure stress with "drinks with the team". BUT I want to put my life back in order, I would like to fit in the expensive clothes I ones purchase and now too tight and slow down a bit - get healthier, happier, etc.

So I decided to try SW - I am on week 2 - week 1 was very easy, lots 3.5pounds (I was 11.9 now 11 5,5st ) - I guess it was new and so on. But week 2 has been very hard, lots of work at work which meant I was on my desk from 8am - 9pm, movie outing which went a bit wrong, etc... but I managed to go to the gym every day, have plenty of water etc. So WI is todat at noon - I am very close to "my days" so hopefully that hasnt ruined things. SO today my food diary will be:

50mnts of cardio at the gym before work
Nothing till WI (NOTHING) noon!
Jacket Potato, beans, salad, cheries and plenty of water
3 slim G+T (12 syns) drinks with the team!!! What can I do!!
Pasta with tomato sauce and lots of vegetables!

WOuld really like to heard from all of you!! :)

Hi Paloma and welcome to sw and minimins.

Sorry you have had such a crap year and it's hardly surprising that your weight has crept up a little.

You have done the right thing though in sorting it now before anymore creeps on and makes you feel even worse.

Well done on your first weeks weightloss and keep up the good work.

Good luck at weigh in today and when you go for drinks if you really want to save the syns don't add the gin no one will know :D

Hey Paloms - good luck for WI, you have done very well to keep it in check so far. It must be very difficult when you have such a stressful life, doing SW will make you super organised I'm sure (if you aren't already) when it comes to food - 2-3 meals at your desk needs organisation lol

Fingers crossed it goes well for you :)

Thanks

hey all - I lost 2 pounds! I am very happy!

Quick question - does anyone know what ready meals are 0 syns, so things to have at home or in my desk for horrible moments when my boss wont let me go home and the alternative are crisps, chocolate, stuff from the machine in general?

Tonight at drinks I will have 2 glasses of wine and 2 diet cokes that should take me through the evening with no problems! :)

P

Never heard of a ready meal for zero syns unless you get some tinned stuff like Asda chickpea dahl which is free.

It's probably best to make extra's for tea to warm up.

Well done on your weightloss.

I am so hungry after the gym session this morning!

But I have found extra motivation for my weighloss journey! So as mentioned I am divorced at 28 which means that technically I was never single as a grown up woman, I never did the dinner date, thing, my ex and I went to uni together and that was it!
So there is a guy (isnt it always!) and he is going through something similar - I really like him, BUT he is probably the fittest person I have ever known EVER! He RUNS into work (like 4 miles each way) EVERY day, then goes to the gym to do weights at lunch time, then cycles at the weekends - you get the point? he looks like he could be in a men's health magazine... :(
So there you go - extra motivation to get fit!

Food so far was jacket potato with salad (with a bit of cous cous) from the cantine and fruit! :)

About the low syn instant meal - my consultant suggested something call Noodle Mugshot which is supposed to be free - will look for it tonight at Waitrose and let you know!!!

Oh, yeh some of the mug shots are free, no all of them so you may need to look them up. My faves are the Thai one which is half a syn and the creamy cheese which is 2 syns. I think the sweet n sour one is free, altho there has been some debate recently.

Well done for your loss x

Hi Paloma

Welcome to minimins. You have done so well in your first two weeks so stick with it.

Sorry you've had such a crap year, things can only get better, isn't that the saying, and I'm sure they are going to.

Now then:

Sounds to me 'Mr Extra Motivation' needs someone to spend some quality time with too, soooo much exercise A DAY, screams I need a woman!! Go get him girl!! Maybe then you can 'exercise together' ;)

Hey, well done on your weight loss so far!!!

Sorry for your year so far, but as SB said - things can only get better.

As for the ready meals only thing i cant suggest are the mug shots and the super noodles which are the light or not sure what they're called - i think they're free cant remember. But if you want crisps I really like the WW ones especially their sweet chilli ones and are only 4syns per bag.
