First weigh-in yesterday :) PP works and not just for me

Yesterday I had my first weigh in at a meeting.

Glad to say I lost 3lbs, oh and the other half lost 7lbs :)

I'm more pleased with my husband then myself (cause even though I struggle to tell if I have lost or not unlike discovery, due to being allowed treats with PP etc) I kinda thought I might lose something this week.

With my hubby its different, he struggled last time on PP and that's the main reason we left before (he gained weight 2 weeks in a row even with sticking to it 100%), it really demotivated him for a time, he was so one of those people who was like 'Why did they ever change from Discovery Plan, I was losing weight with that plan'.

Anyway we gave the meetings another try as I said (as some can go it alone but my hubby really can't an nor can I a bit). Unlike last time where my hubby ate all his daily points (like your supposed too) he actually didn't ( I don't recommend this for everyone)

Instead of eating 48points worth of food a day (which he found was way to much, probably more then he ever ate not dieting lol) he decided to lower his daily allowance too 44 and also not eat any weekly points.

As you can tell from the 7lbs lost this week, seems to be doing the trick

I can just about do it at home on my own, but much prefered the meetings, now we know PP works for us both, I'm so chuffed as I can keep attending my local meeting, without worrying about my OH and his no-existant weight loss :D

____

Only 19lbs for me to lose and I'll be classed as a gold member (though I'd still like to lose a little more then that as 19 would only get me to just the cusp of being gold) Worked it out that even if I only lost 1lbs a week I should be at gold before my 30th birthday in December (wish me luck)...

Thanks, its always nice to hear others comments.

Sounds weird (don't know if anyone gets this) but every time I lose weight, I feel like I want to let everyone know as I'm so pleased with myself, as I'm sure others are when they lose weight (hope that makes sense)

Fantastic result well done!!

My friend was just like your hubby, but she has come to realise that she can't touch her weeklies, else she gains. I guess it's finding the right balance for everyone :)

Hey well done on your losses, excellent stuff! I'm still trying to work out what works best for me with pp, whether I can use weeklies or not ya know? I'm on 29pp a day so if I want a treat it kinda had to come out of weeklies and I STS last week. Guess its trial and error a bit isn't it? Fingers crossed we keep losing the weight!! :)

It's fab you and the hubby are doing it together what a great motivation. And I'd your both eating healthy meal planning will be so much easier than if your hubby was eating takeaways and chocolate like mine does ! X

Well yesterday at the meeting we did talk briefly about takeaways and how many points might be in a pukapie, no one new but I did say I thought it had hydrogenated fat in it so it must be high (please correct me if wrong) which is good cause doing WW I can eat more for my points if I chose the healthier options and stay clear of takeaways and things like that..

Yeah its great that we are both doing it together because if I lived on my own I think I might have been able to do it without meetings, but (and maybe this is the same for other peoples partners) he saw my trying to help him lose weight as nagging, even though it wasn't meant to be, yet at the meetings he listens and takes it all in. If we were not doing it together I know his unhealthy eating habits would soon affect my weight loss (though he isn't as bad as some)

He works 60hrs a week so it defiantly helps that we do it together cause I point all the dinners and most of the food we eat on the weekend (I don't mind doing it which is cool for him)

I find what helps me, is too just use about 15 weekly points. I do go to the gym and also go walking, and have this habit of going for a small walk sometimes (not always) if I have had something a little naughtier then usual.

But I think if my weight loss does start to slow down or stop then I will just lower the amount of weeklies I use. I'm averaging about 2-3 weeklies used a day (roughly 5-6 times a week) I'll just go to 1-2 a day if I feel it will help things along a bit better in the future (as I said only if needed)

But as they say each to there own, and we are all different, so what works for one, may not always work for someone else

Well done for getting back on it1 Your story is very much like mine in that i was loosing weight on Discover (i lost my first 20lb's that way) then when it changed to PP's i gained a bit and couldn't get the hang of it, tried going back to discover and found i struggled with that too so decided to stop dieting for a while. Came back to it about 5/6 weeks ago and have so far lost 8lb's so it's working for me now, lets hope it stays that way ;)
