I'm so scared, dieting at work is so hard for me. When I am at home it is easy but at work, a whole different story.

I have my own office so don't really interact with other people during the day. My boss is in today and she always bring cakes and stuff, she will want me to go with her to tesco when she buys her lunch etc...

I am not telling anyone about Exante (except hubby and best friend). I might just tell her I am on WW

First thing I did when I got in was throw all the food in my office away, cup a soups, snacks a jacks evereything.

Wish me luck, I have been dreading today

just be string, you are on day 5 now so you should be in ketosis. My colleagues eat cakes, biscuits etc. Just try and ignore and focus on your goal. Look forward to your WK1 WI, it's only2 days away!!! x

I am def in ketotsis, according to the stick and according to my "dog breath" lol

Good luck Kookie! I'm feeling the same about when I go back to work (although thats not til August, yay!), especially as I will be in an open plan office with new colleagues and will feel a fool getting my drinks mixer out!

Why feel a fool? You're doing a brilliant thing - getting your weight in order, and improving your life. I'm sure you'll find nobody even bats an eyelid!

Thanks MessyFreckle, you're right! And as they see the lbs drop off my they'll soon get it!!

SO you are winning!
Be your own person, not a lap dog.
By the way - I have taken soup in flask every work day since March 2011 - I work very full time too. I know everyone wil say 'oooo vitamins, taste is lost etc etc' . But it works for me. If anyone asks I say its home made.
So do what works for you and don't think about anyone else in this. Good luck.

Hi GSQ
Oooh, interesting to hear - so you make up the soup and keep it hot in a flask? Does it all separate and go funny or is it OK? At the moment I've been only having the bars if I am out at lunchtime but not keen on them!
Have you tried mixing a shake and keeping it cold in a flask too?

In my experience the shakes don't travel at all well; they separate and taste foul. I just don't like the bars so had to find a way of doing soup and the day job.
Soup is fine, I give it a shake and pour it out. It tastes fine; I like it. I am sure you lose some vitamins but it is 5 packets a week out of 21 and for me it works ok.
I feel a rebel, breaking 'rules' but it works, no adverse effects.

I know the diet is nothing to be ashamed of but I'm the same with not wanting to get my beaker out and shake it around in public! Can't be bothered with people's snide comments.

When I start exante I plan to get a non transparent beaker, that looks like a normal coffee cup, and mix it and give it a discreet shake. You have your on office so you should be able to that. Or have a bar?

When I bought a blender for the plan I went with this

Kenwood SB055 Smoothie 2GO, Silver: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

It comes with 2 "jugs" with lids, I do my shakes in that and then I just carry that around. It's all secure so nothing leaks, and it has a little drinking hole in it that I pop my straw in :D

Oooooo I bought one to start my Exante journey and I love it.

My little boy's loving his fresh fruit milkshakes too ;)

Oooh how long is your soup in your flask for before you drink it? Also wondering whether you could whizz up the soup in the morning before work in the kenwood machine, take it in the beaker then warm it in the microwave? Or mix soup up cold in the morning and put in tupperware in fridge then heat in microwave?

Just wondering... I'm also not telling anyone at work and we all eat together at a table so I need to be discreet. I have said I'm cutting down/dieting but just can't cope with explaining a VLCD...

I make it at about 8, lunch about 1pm. Its always just fine I don't fully fill the flask so room to give it a shake first. Microwaves are ok though some say they destroy vitamins.

Thanks GSQ. Might have to invest in a flask as that's pretty much the same time scale for me! :D
