Avoiding Cheese, Can I Beat My Personal Best?

Ok, so I'm a total cheese addict! I was introduced to it when I was four and I have ate it compulsively ever since. I think the longest I have gone without eating it is about three weeks. In twenty-six years!

So on Monday I decided I will cut out all forms of cheese: cheddar, cream cheese, cheese spreads, pizza, lasagne and anything else with cheese as an ingredient.

Sun 26th June was the last time I ate cheese in a pizza so I have made it to a full week which I am quite proud of! I also think I have likely developed an intolerence of the years as I think can happen with any food you eat too much of. I can honestly say I have not missed it. On Tues in Sainsbury I noticed Boursin reduced to £1 and lifted it off the shelf and a little voice reminded me hey aren't you supposed to be avoiding all cheese? So I put it back.:D

Well done! Cheese is a problem. It's far too tasty! My other half HATES cheese. Which helps me avoid it (certainly in evening meals anyway!).

Keep going! x

a good way to do this sort of thing is take it a day at a time. Just dare yourself - hey, what about another day? like kids dare each other to do wheelies with their bikes. Keep posting back, especially those little victories

well done

I am a true cheeseoholic - or was. I am right with you on this and you are doing so well!

I have found giving up bread a great help - no cheese sarnies!

I still sneak in the low fat stuff though....

Today I accidentally stumbled across the Cold Turkey Programme. You send off for a pack and get a wrist band, on which you can count off the days you've given something up completely. For each period of time (5 days, 10 days, 21 days and 42 days) you get a little clasp to wear on the band, to show how long you've succeeded in going cold turkey!

It's a charity, so the money you spend on the wristband goes to good causes. The website is here:

The Programme - The Big Cold Turkey Programme Ltd

Sounds a good idea if anyone's giving something up! The 42 day challenge!
