Hi all, im new here and requesting your advice and also needing motivation. I've been on SW before and am used to red and green days and managed to lose a stone and a half - that was 2 yrs ago and yes I've put it all back on plus MORE. I decided to join SW again and feel the weight loss is much slower than before now im doing extra easy.
Im entering 6 weeks and have only managed to lose 5lbs (approx, 1.5 a week)which feels so slow. I love my veg anyway and I try to make sure that the plate is almost half superfree and also eat very little carbs - only once a day.
Does anyone have any advice please. My exercise plan is exactly what I can manage and is mor about motivation. If I have a good weight loss then I am motivated to keep it up.

I'm glad you're here, it shows you have some motivation and are not willing to just give up :) First of all remember, that 5lbs is 5lbs you were carrying only a month and a half ago, and even if you didn't speed your loss any more you would lose 3 stone over the course of a year. You say that you originally lost a stone and a half, which isn't a massive amount, and while I don't know how much extra you've put on, you have to think, that it's not what you're not losing that count, it's what you are losing :)

There will be times when slow losses get you down, but losing huge amounts and then rebounding is horrible, and you are making staedy, sensible progress, so may I just say, congratulations on your fantastic work so far :D

I'm a little confused as to why you limit carbs so much on extra easy. Carbs aren't evil & you shouldn't be limiting them to that extent on extra easy. If you don'tlike carbs you are best off doing red days instead of extra easy.

1.5lbs a week average is a normal & healthy weight loss on SW as well so not something to worry about.

How about you post a typical days food on here & we can take a quick look?

MsMia and Kingleds, thank you both for your reply as I was questioning whether there is any point of weighing in tomorrow, but now you've been supportive I will go and I know I have to keep telling myself that the weight didn't pile on overnight. My long term aim is to become a life-time member so that it will help me maintain my weight loss.
I limit my carbs as they are soooo not my friend and I feel bloated for days if I have carbs at every meal-time.
Thanxs again for your help.

If carbs do have that effect on you i really recommend red days hun. All lean meats, eggs & quorn are free, as are all superfree fruits & veg (so not peas, beans or sweetcorn) Potatoes, rice, pasta are not free. You get two hebs & 2 heas. You can use one for potato or wholemeal pasta if you want - you just have to weight it.

For me, a typical red day is egg & bacon with tomatoes & mushrooms & a slice of bread for brekkie, a chicken or tuna salad with cheese for lunch, a hifi bar as a snack, then pork loin with mashed butternut squash & roasted other veg. Yum yum!

Thank you - will keep at it and i'll try not to beat myself up about what I'm not losing and be positive about even the smallest losses.

Your stats are not on your profile but do you have a lot to lose OR are you very close to target. If you have a lot to lose and are limiting carbs on EE you may not be eating enough !!! So red would make more sense but 1 1/2 pounds a week is 7 1/2 stone in a year a fantastic loss.

Do all carbs bloat you or can you pinpoint it down many people find wheat bloats them but potatoes and rice don't

Hi Theresa, my stats are on now, I got lost during registration but have edited them now. My weight at the beginning of the year was 14st 7, but I didn't start a slimming plan until May and at that point was 14st 5. I lost 2lb on South beach diet which is similar to Atkins but even though it was only a small loss it helped me cut my sugar craving for bad carbs - couldn't resist a cake or 2 plus big round doughy cookies and muffins. Started slimming world plan at 14. 3 on 30 May and my current weight is 13. 12. When i get to 13st or 12st 11 as is my club 10 them i'll feel i've made real progress. Think I would be happy at approx 11st. ish.

But Theresa, I really don't get much out of image therapy and wonder if I'd be more suited doing it on-line, rather than stressing about attending group weigh-in.
Regards
Linds

Rice definietly bloats me, so eaten once a week only or less often. Potatoes - only a few but still only eaten 2 or 3 times a week as is 1 slice of wholemeal bread.

Good to know consultants are on here - inspiring. When I started with SW I had this distant vision of achieving my desired weight loss and becoming a consultant!!! Will dream on but its great to read so many threads of everyone supporting each other and those with lots to lose being really motivated. .May you all achieve your targets and be truly happy in keeping off the weight.
