Motivation to Stay on Plan after Car Crash

I had a car accident on Tuesday. Wasn't my fault. I was just coming back from doing some shopping in Aldi and I was going around a bend and this young girl driving on the other side cut the corner and went straight in to me.

Thankfully nobody suffered any injuries and luckily I didn't have my kids in the car.

I have severe brusing to my chest and ribs and a burn from the seat belt.

My husband has been so good to me, but I just have been eating whats put in front of me and not following the plan at all.

Hopefully next week I can get motivated and start losing weight again. I'm just so disappointed that I won't be able to do my walks, or Zumba for a while.

Anyone have any advise to get motivated again.

Ouch, sounds nasty!

In terms of food:

Can you get out some cook books and get hubby to make some easy yummy ones so you know you're starting back?

And in terms of motivation- make a for and against list for being on plan, then decide. :)

Thank you for that, but my husband is more of a stick in microwave and wait till it goes ping kind of man.

Next week I should hopefully be up and about more. x

How about savoury rice and micro veggies, lots of different flavours and they go ping! :)

i love savoury rice , all the flavours and they are low in syns aswell. I need to find out how many syns are in a cheese burger just that i have eaten one earlier and im sure the syns are really high

You say that "nobody suffered any injuries", but you did. Just because it was nothing life-threatening, and no bones were broken, it doesn't mean that it wasn't serious for you.

You have had an awful shock, so don't underestimate the amount of time it takes to get over something like this - look after yourself and make sure everyone else looks after you too (good to hear that your husband is doing just that).

I understand that you don't want to go wildly off plan, and maybe you can take this opportunity to teach your husband a little simple cooking? If not, there are microwave meals which are not too high in syns, and I am sure he can manage to make you some tasty sandwiches.

I do hope that you feel better soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds like it was quite a nasty shock.

The book says that average syns for a cheeseburger is 15.5. Quarterpounder with cheese is 26.5.

How about getting your husband to buy some weight watcher ready meals?

Or, in the chilled section in Tesco, there is a 'Simply Cook' range. There is a lamb shank in minted gravy and a beef in gravy. They are both free and cook in the bag. Delicious, easy and great comfort food. I'm sure your husband could manage those with some micro veg and boiled pots. Free on EE!!!

Hope you're feeling better soon.
