I'll be honest, I'm bricking it. Not done an hour of cardio for quite some time! I've been exercising every day (for 2.1/2 weeks), but so worried I'm going to be the only red-faced puffer in there :\

Wondered if anyone else has just started it and how they found it as a first timer?

Hi lizbag. Don't worry about it.. If your instructor is anything like mine everyone will be red faced and puffing :D but you'll be having so much fun you won't care. Have a great time.

Haha thanks littlesis. Sounds perfect! I'll prob. post about it either way tomorrow! Still feeling nervous, but big thanks for the encouragement :)

I have to agree with LittleSis Zumba is awesome and I have been going for 2 months and I am still red faced and puffing. I would suggest to get a good view of the instructor.
It is so much fun and out of all the classes I do it is my fave :)

I *think* so. I had a great time actually there, but made a fatal mistake on the way home and bought a can of diet coke with cherry. Later on I developed a splitting headache and went to bed. I got woken up an hour later by my daughter, and the headache was unbelievable. I had to throw up! Felt much better afterwards, but definitely going to take it easier next time, and avoid the fizz!

I did have a fantastic time though :) Such a positive, sassy way to lose those pounds!

Glad you enjoyed it, we had a different instructor tonight and she was awesome so much more bouncy than our regular one.

Our instructor is amazing - a tiny little bullet of energy! She's portugese too, so she sings along to all the spanish lyrics. Def. looking forward to it a bit more for having talked about it on here!

Lizbag... Sorry you were so ill after. I made a similar mistake a few weeks back. Normally if I'm going to Zumba I have my main meal at lunch time but for what ever reason this day I had it just over an hour before class................ I was so ill after.

On the other hand really pleased you enjoyed yourself :D

Comforting to hear it's not just me (was very worried I was just too unfit/fat to do it!). It's zumba night tomorrow, and normally I eat with my little girl around 5, but might eat main meal at lunchtime, thanks for the tip :)

I would suggest you have some fruit or some nuts when your little girl eats, just so you've got some energy reserves... I normally have an apple and/or a few almonds around 5. My classes start at 7.30. Then have something light when I get home.
