Hello… need your help please:eek:..

I'm throwing a bit of a dinner party this evening and I wanted to make a decadent pudding.

Could all you lovely, cleverer people try and "Slimming Worldify" this recipe for me

White Chocolate and Orange pots

Makes six

Pot
310ml milk
300ml creme fraiche
6 egg yolks
250g white chocolate
1 tsp gelatin
2 tbsp sweetner

Glaze
8 tbsp sweetner
1/4 pt orange juice
2 tsp gelatin

Raspberries to serve
  • Combine milk & crème fraiche in a saucepan and bring to a simmer
  • in a separate bowl whisk the egg yolks & sweetner then
  • gradually whisk in the hot milk mixture and add 1 tsp gelatin
  • return to a low heat and stir constantly until thickened
  • Add the choclate and stir through till melted
  • Pour the custard into 6 ramekins and leave in fridge to set
For the glaze,
  • soak gelatin in cold water for 10 minutes.
  • Heat the orange juice and sweetner and boil for 1 minute
  • then add the gelatin
  • Pour over the custard and leave to set
  • decorate with the raspberries
So I was going to maybe swap the crème fraiche for low fat yogurt or quark, but would the yogurt split? Or would the quark go grainy like when you cook it in the oven??

I was also going to swap the white chocolate for options hot chocolate?Does that sound gross??

Without these swaps they are 17+ syns per pot and I'm not sure I can justify that no matter how nice they look on the photo!!:D

Ok i've had a little go myself at trying to make it Slimming World friendly...

Makes 4 (i only have 4 to make not the 6 previously stated)

For the choc pot

260ml skimmed milk(4.5)
150g [STRIKE]quark[/STRIKE] use low fat yogurt
4 egg yolks
1 tbsp sweetner
3 sachets options white choc(6)(add more if needed)
1 tsp gelatin(i could only find sheets so used 3)

glaze
5 tbsp sweetner(didn't need as much only added 1 tbsp)
100 ml orange juice(2.5)
2 tsp gelatine(1 sheet)

  • whisk the egg yolks and sweetner
  • heat the milk until reaches simmering point
  • pour milk onto the egg yolk mixture whilst whisking, sprinkle on the gelatine
  • return to the heat and stir continuously until the mixture has thickened slightly
  • take off the heat, let cool a little and add in the [STRIKE]quark[/STRIKE] yogurt and hot chocolate sachets
  • divide into 4 ramekins and leave in fridge to set
  • follow the same recipe in post 1 for the glaze
I'm working out that these will be approx 3.5syns.

I'll update my post after i've made them and add photos if they're any good.

i think you have summed it up fine huni, go for it and let us know how they turned out, they sound yummy:)

Let us know how it goes sounds fab ive got a come dine with me night coming up with family and im still looking for a dessert. x

I've edited my post above for the recipe that worked...

As i thought the quark went a little bit grainy because it wouldn't "melt" into the custard properly and i had to put it back onto the heat... quark and heat don't mix :D

So next time i do it I will just add low fat yogurt after its come off the heat..

The taste (if you ignored the grainy-ness) was quite subtle of white choc so you could add more/less to taste really.

It was a nice dessert and i'll definitely do it again...
