In search of the 'cure'

lipotrim

To the victor the spoils!
Hi all

As I posted in the welcome session, my motivation for going back to Lipotrim is to try and rid myself of the dreaded Type 2 Diabetes. After reading The Guardian article about the Newcastle study I thought why not? I don't actually believe there is a 'cure' to diabetes just a lifelong change of diet. I want to lose weight, reduce insulin resistance and up my exercise so I can start running again. Well eventually.

Right onward and downwards!

Oops should say I have done lipotrim before, about 9 years ago. Lost 6 stone then but put it all back on after going back to eating crap. Restarted lipotrim yesterday, hoping the diabetes will give me the motivation to keep this going.

Was 100% yesterday. Drunk my first lipotrim (I can only do chocolate) - felt like coming home LOL To misquote Morgan Freeman in The Shawshank Redemption, "This Lipotrim is funny. First you hate it, then you get used to it. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on it."

Found yesterday OK actually, was very hungry early evening and went to bed with serious rumble tums but glad I didn't deviate. I have been low carbing for a couple of months so am probably in ketosis anyway, it's just the hunger that's the issue but I know from experience that that will go.

Just had my first shake of the day! Added some ice into the blender, makes a big difference.

Sadly I woke up thinking about having some nice grilled lamb chops and salad for tea, then remembered I was LTing LOL Ah well!

Losing weight may not cure your diabetes but it will put years on your life and you will gain other health related benefits.
I believe that your sugar level will drop if you stick at it. I've a bad knee, prior to LT I was limping around, I feel fine now and my blood pressure is down too. I generally feel good.:D

Well thankfully, due to low carbing, I realized that diabetes can be controlled. I've had non diabetic numbers for the last three years, bar my 'rebellion' this last year. Diabetes is certainly reversible, I don't think it's curable alas!

I'm looking forward to being healthier though.

Good luck with you journey of cure.It was a news item a few days ago that a low calorie diet my reverse type 2 diabetes. The same with me that my health has started to compromise as I gained the weight. Hope we can achieve a healthier us soon.

That is exactly the article that nspired me Magi. I find it a little confusing though as it implies that a VLCD somehow awakens the beta cells in the pancreas so that they start producing insulin again, whereas I was under the understanding that most type 2 diabetics overproduce insulin because they are insulin resistant.

I do know that losing weight improves insulin resistance though so it can only be a good thing to drop a few stones.

Thanks for taking the time to post and the best of luck with your journey too!

:D

It's the morning of day three, feeling very spacey!

Did 100% yesterday, but it was tough. Really hungry at times, had to really resist the temptation to have a low carb snack.

Just finished my first shake of the day, added a bit too much water to the blender and now feeling very bloated. Yuck!

Perhaps I should enjoy the feeling of being 'stuffed' LOL

Onward and downward!

Well done Lipotrim! I am also excited to make it to day 3. I kept drinking sparkling water last night and it really helped with the hunger pains. Wish you another successful day!

And the very best of luck to you too!
It's lunchtime and I'm starving LOL Only 3 hours to my next shake!

What a miserable Friday night, so hungry I went to bed at 9.30. Was pretty depressed as I couldn't face going out with some mates that we'd previously agreed. But able to maintain 100%

Woke up this morning feeling really positive though.

I'm determined to not let lipotrim spoil my social life but I think I need to retreat for the first week or so.

Let's see what day four brings!

Good luck all.

Onward and downward!

I'm hanging my head in shame this morning!

I cheated last night.

Bought a tray of donner meat and some spinach and yogurt side.

Not as bad it could have been. The Turkish makes it's own donner meat and it's not carby, well it doesn't raise my blood sugar levels anyway. Tested last night and this morning.

Could kick myself, was really positive yesterday, but at 10pm I just got the urge!

Sorry for letting you guys down.

Guess I'm back at day 1...

:(

Keep going, one odd blip will not make that much difference, put it behind you and remain focused. Time will soon pass:D

Well today hasn't been bad at all, thought I was going to be starving all day but if anything I've not felt anywhere near as hungry. Had my first shake at 12pm and about to have my second now. The bloat has subsied a little so hopefully not too much damage done!

Hi Lipotrim, you know a meal cannot make or break a diet. Keep going! Sending you positive energy X

Aw, that happened to me first time around. Bad eating habits are hard to shake off. Last night I was happy with half of what I eventually ate. I need to realise that I'm not a glutton any more!

Really proud of myself today. Went to a local festival in the park yesterday. Everyone around me eating and drinking and I was more than content with my mineral water. So far so good today too, getting hungry but another few hours till my shake. :(

Sparkling water overload!
