Monthly Cycle?

Hi ladies,

I was told I have PCOS last November and despite being given a website to look at I haven't really had much support from my doctor. I was put on the pill for a while but I decided to come off it as I was getting migraines and apparently there wasn't anything else they could do for me.

I figured if I have PCOS I've probably had it for a number of years - my periods have never been regular since I started getting them at 11. They were irregular but generally around 6 weeks apart ish. I was lucky enough to have my son in 2009 but since June 2010 I haven't had a natural period. I am quite upset about it, but if the only option is to have constant migraines and 2-week long bleeds then I think I'll pass on the prescribed "treatment". I've decided to lose weight and see what happens instead - my doctor seems to think weightloss is some kind of miracle cure!

Anyway, I was just wondering - despite not getting any periods, is it possible I'd still have a "cycle"? I've noticed every couple of months or so my hair will go fuzzy, I'll get greasy skin and sometimes even period pains but nothing actually happens. Does anyone else get this?

Would be great to have a bit more info on this confusing condition!

I was diagnosed when i was 14 after having regular periods for 2 years they suddenly became very irregular and i would have maybe 4 or 5 a year! I must say that when i had lost weight before (for TTC) the symptoms got a lot better my skin, hair etc everything was better and i had approx 9 cycles a year which for me was pretty good going and helped me conceive!!!!
I am now on the track again to lose the weight so i can hopefully conceive again. I am at my heaviest right now and even though i dont have a bleed i defo feel different at times of the month, greasy skin and cramps etc but i dont actually ovulate i just get the symptoms iykwim.....so yes it is possible :)
