Is Reductil off the market now?

I think I read a while ago these prescription pills had been took off the market. I used to be on them (despite having high BP) and got a few side effects suchas sleeplessness.

They've been banned throughout Europe for the last year or so. Apparently they cause strokes and heart attacks.

Yep. Banned in Europe. I'm gutted as this really helped me curb my appetite and retrain my brain. I lost about a stone after no loss through diet and exercise

Yup it's been banned for ages.
Xenical is good though, I had that last year and lost over 4 stone....just didn't keep it off!

I guess I won't be getting the repeat prescription I put in for then ....

I did a short course of these about 4 years ago. Didn't work for me at all and I had a fair selection of the side effects from the leaflet. Apparently, you are supposed to have your blood pressure monitored while taking them. My doctor didn't bother and it's only when I tried a home monitor and found my BP had risen to 180/100 that I went back to the GP and was promptly taken off them. Not surprised they've been withdrawn but it's a bit poor that the reasons for it weren't picked up during initial trials.

I was only on them for a month, and when I went back my dr said that she wasn't happy to prescribe them as there had been a number of deaths which were linked to Reductil.
