Put the kettle on
So, after half heartedly 'trying' to lose weight for my holiday for several months, ive decided to shift this chub once and for all by counting cals. Ive been doing sw, and while i thought this was a great plan, it just isnt the right one for me to lose weight on as i need limits on how much i can actually eat. Ive also done ww in the past but wanted to try something different.

A bit about me - im in my early 30s, and live with my darling husband to whom ive been married two years (together nearly ten!!). We go on our ultimate holiday to las vegas in october and i just wanna look my best for it. I have around two stone id like to lose, but ultimately im looking to drop a couple of dress sizes and tone up.

Ill be updating this with my mad ramblings as i get to my goal. Please feel free to add any comments/advice/hints!!
 
So my first day ever cc and its gone pretty well. Ive found it helps planing out my meals the night before on mfp so i know what i will be having. Im amazed at how much i actually got to eat for my cals - tho i did do zumba tonight. It has shown me tho just how much i was overeating on sw. Ive had 1500 cals today (1200 net with zumba) but i could have quite easily have got through another 500 on sw!! I know ive chosen the right way of losing this fat now!

Im just having a well deserved sit down in front of the telly tonight. Tuesdays are normally pretty hectic for me so im relaxing while i can today! Cant wait for the weekend already!
 
Glad you had a good first day :) good luck and can I hide in your suitcase for Vegas???? I'd love to go!

Woooooo! Firstly well done for seeing the light and coming to CC'ing (you can tell I love CC'ing :D ) secondly, Vegas is amazzziiinnggg! Legomom, me and you are going to have to start getting very chummy and get down to our skinny goal weights soon because I'm coming in that suitcase too :D xxx
 
Thank you all very much for your kind comments!! Im gonner have to watch coming through customs with all these people in my suit case tho lol!!

Today has been another good day cc wise. I was a bit worried about how today would go as i havent exercised so have had to stick to 1200 cals. I managed ok tho! Ive also cut down my caffine the last few days and have struggled with headaches in the evening as a result. Im hoping this wont last much longer!! I did seem to sleep much better last night so hopefully its doing me some good.

Today has been pretty uneventful, same old at work. Im currently an xbox widow thanks to stupid call of duty new map packs gggrrr!! Also means i cant get on kinect to do zumba.

My department at work have a big meeting tomorrow about the future of our jobs etc so im worried about how that will go. I found out about it last week and since then ive been worrying about money and stuff. But fingers crossed it will all work out for the best and all i can do right now is save.

Something we agree on is that SW is bad for portion control so good for you at sticking to your 1200 cals, that's brilliant!

Sorry to hear about the extra stress for you that can be hard too when you are starting a new relationship with food so I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you for your meeting tomorrow.

BTW I am incredibly jealous of your Vegas trip I went once back in 2003 but I really would love to go back! It truly is an Ultimate Holiday.. I love your description.
 
Thanks everyone for your concern. Ill post properly later, but last night was very difficult and i was very grumpy! My job is ok for now. I also managed not to let the situation become an excuse not to stick to the diet. Hope everyone is well!!

Welcome! If it's any consolation, I found the first two weeks the hardest for cc. It takes your body a while to adjust, and for you to find what suits you. I started out having lots of small meals throughout the day, but now I've found I'm much better having three solid meals at fixed times - keeps the temptation at bay!

How is Zumba on 360? Worth getting? Does it work you up into a sweat?

Hi cherry pie. I love zumba on the xbox!! Having the kinect means u dont need a controller like the wii. It does get me into a good sweat, but i was doing sweet fa before this!! The game has a lot of different work outs and options so i find i dont get as bored as i have in the past with dvds. I tend to do 45 mins four days a week, but am changing this gradually to swap some days to 20 mins zumba and 30 mins resistence work.

So yesterday was a hard day. We had that meeting where we were told our department and another department are merging. Except it doesnt work out like that - the other dept are being done away with cos not all their work is required anymore. Our dept will be taking on whats left of their work and will be taking on 6 additonal members of staff from this other dept. There are currently 15 people in there!! So my colleagues and i basically had to sit there while these people were told they were potentially losing their jobs but we would be ok!!!! Not nice at all!!!

I was so wound up about it all last night. Came home tho and did zumba and davina dvd to destress a bit. Then we went to see transformers which was really busy cos its wednesday which just wound me up again!! Film wasnt great either. Boo!!

Today was a pretty rubbish mood in work again, i think a lot of people are just shocked including our bosses who have no idea how we will cope with all the work!! I really wasnt in the mood. Over the last year there has been one thing after another in there and im getting to a point where i feel like whats the point?! I know after a wknd chilling out i should feel better tho!

Tonight im just having a long relax. Ive done zumba and I do need to try and get out to asda for some milk at some point!! Im really impressed with how im getting on cc'ing. I was so worried i would be really hungry all the time but its actually ok. I think it helps having done sw before i do tend to eat quite healthy stuff and have lots of protien which is meant to keep you fuller longer apparently. So there you go. Fingers crossed at this rate ill be down to 10st in no time!!

Thanks Bostik, it wasnt as bad today. I was pretty busy so i had plenty to keep my mind off it.

Its my oh's birthday tomorrow so weve got a nice weekend planned, were going up town tomorrow. Hopefully we wont be too hung over on sunday so we can get out and do something nice for the day.

Im not sure how ill manage this weekend diet wise. Today has really felt like a struggle. I seemed to be really hungry this afternoon and was desperate for my tea! I baked some cookies for my oh so ended up having one of them after tea. I think i let myself go too hungry before tea and the cookie was too rich cos now i feel sick!! Im not sure why its felt so hard today, im trying not to let myself worry about it cos i do feel like im feeling better for it already.

I think some days we're just hungrier than others. Don't stress over it. Have a good weekend :)
 
Thanks bostik and squeezy! I no doubt sound a bit daft for worrying about it. I think what im afraid off is with going out today and there being lots of temptations, if i get too hungry ill end up blowing it, and eating anything and everything!!

I thought about it last night tho that im not gonner beat myself up if i go awol today and end up not losing as a result cos i just wanna enjoy today! I then have a good run until our holiday without any distractions. Ive been guilty in the past of thinking i have to be 100% all the time and if im not i end up on the whole binge cycle.

Thing is i can feel a difference, mainly from the exercise, so i know im doing something right!!
