Ello.

I have decided today to go back to the SW plan!!! However not joined back up yet and now stressing as had a sandwich and need to know how many syns.
Its a marks and sparks salmon and cucumber sanie. cals 320 sugar 2.1 fat 12.5 sat fat 3.5

Could anyone help as really wanna start with this plan now got it in my head to be good!!!

Thankyou

1 syn for every 20 calories so 16 syns.
By the way can you try and keep syn questions to the syn values sub-forum :)

The 20 cals per syn rule only works when there is no free food.
The salmon would be free, the cucumber would be free, and depending on what kind of bread it was, that could be a Healthy Extra.

Sorry but sandwiches are on the list of foods that don't qualify for a free food allowance, so the 20 calorie rule does work.

I agree with Circes and would say to put it down as 16 syns.

That way its the 'worst case scenario' and you wont be under estimating.

why dont you get free food for sandwhiches? I always free food them lol

Unless you make the sandwich yourself you are not sure what they are doing to the 'free foods' they might have preservatives, have oils on them etc - so its best to syn from the calories.

Plus, how do you know what calories to deduct the free foods from - it gets just that bit too complicated in my opinion!

oh right i thought you just used the oojimiflip online to do it and said free food like salmon and it does it for you then i usually hex my bread lol

but yeah that makes sense why (nto that i will stop my way haha)

Take a look inside the July 2011 edition of SW mag, it has a page on sandwiches!
