Vegas Wedding - April 2013

Argh!

I need to lose alot, I mean, to be at "goal" weight would be half my body weight, 10st pretty much.

How the hell am I going to do that in less than a year?!

I know Im looking at this all wrong but I cant help but feel overwhelmed by the mountain I know I need to climb.

Since being engaged Ive actually put on a few pounds even though Im on WeightWatchers. Tonights weigh in proved I lost half a pound this week. Being engaged should be all the motivation I need yet when a cake or chocolate or anything is infront of me I find it irresistable and all will power goes out the window.

Its stupid and upsetting. Ive been big all my life and after diet upon diet (Ive tried them all) I lose a few stone and fall off, each time getting bigger. Ive never seen me slim, only as this huge embarressment.

I hope this forum can keep my head motivated and in place to keep this weightloss going.

April 2013 is more than a year away?! You've got plenty of time. Perhaps WW isn't for you and you should try another diet where you're not counting points and are allowed a jacket tattie without it taking up half your daily points allowance!

If you're on a diet, and you're struggling, it's not the diet for you. Perhaps try Slimming World seeing as they have a pretty much "eat what you like" strategy?

And what you've got to think of is how rubbish you feel now, and how much better you would feel when you lose the weight. You know you don't want to stay as you are, you know you want to be slimmer for when you get married, so keep that in mind when you reach for your "weaknesses".

Have you got a pic of the wedding dress you like? Or even just A wedding dress to stick on your fridge/cupboards to remind you before you open looking for food when you're not actually hungry?

Also try not keeping any chocolate/treats in the house so you have to go out and buy a bar. a) it might make you not be bothered to go and b) at least you'll be getting some exercise while you're on your way to getting your small bar of chocolate. If you're also likely to go out and buy chocolate after you've had tea, get changed into your PJs after you've eaten so you can't go out again.

Or you could buy 7 (small) chocolate bars and know that that's all you're allowed for the week. So you can eat as many of them as you like, but they've got to last you all week. No more buying others etc.

And tell your OH how you're feeling. I know he loves you as you are (obviously or he wouldn't have popped the question!) but ask him to support you in your weight loss by not putting temptation in your way. Once you start to see some results, the motivation will become easier too. I found that while I'd only lost 5lbs or something, I was like "What's the point?!". Now I've lost 12lbs, I can see the difference myself, and I've had to buy a smaller swimming costume (although mainly that was because my b00bs kept trying to escape out of the old one during aquafit!).

Some light exercise is good too, ask your OH to come out on a walk with you, or take someone's dog for a walk. Try swimming? Don't go thinking "I'll do exercise when I've lost some weight" because then you'll never do the exercise.

Chin up chuck :) There's loads of support on here, but don't beat yourself up too much if you go off track slightly. We're only human, just get back on the horse so to speak and get back on plan.

Good luck xx

Hey, how's it going now? You have lots of time; don't give up. I'm getting married in Vegas in July 2012. I must let you know how I get on. Likewise, you can share your tips/plans/ideas with me - I'd be very grateful.

Hi girl! I was drawn in by "Vegas". I am toying with a vegas wedding myself. Would love to know your plans.

As for diet.. I need to lose 5 stone, maybe 6... will see how I feel. Getting down to 10 stone gives me an athletic build which I dont find too sexy. Curves are good. Anyhow my point is I am doing lipotrim and can highly reccomend it if you are serious about shedding the pounds. I have shed a stone in a week! It is a very strict diet of 3 shakes a week but it works well if you have the will power and determination. In fact after the first few days the diet is easy enough. The shakes do the job you want them to do.. they fill you up in your hour of need and they taste alright too. The key after that is to drink lots of water to keep the pangs away. I really would reccomend you look into it. You caould reach your goal in a few months. After you loose the 10 stone goal, you can go on a refeed diet which means you use bars and shakes for a while before you eat to fill you up so you dont over eat again. But the great thing is after you start the diet its like a detox you no longer want to eat bad stuff so it really does retrain the brain, its just up to us to listen to it. :) It is a pharmacy run diet look it up on lipotrim.com and watch the video there to explain. Good luck and congratulations :)
