Dried TVP is normally 1 syn per 28g but if it's made with defatted soya it's free.

It just says soya protein chunks and they're dried. It doesn't mention defatted on the pack. So does this mean that its 1 syn per 28g wet or dry. I'm still confused because some where else on here it says dried soya is free.....well confuddled now lol xxxxx

Oh right, sorry when you said "it mentions TVP and defatted soya" I thought you meant the packet.

If it doesn't say defatted then it's 1 syn per 28g, dry. Dried soya is not free.

Its ok Ive sorted it lol if its made from defatted soya flour then its free. Looked in the ingredients and there it was in black and white, sorry for being thick lol :D thanks for your help though :) xxxxx

Ah right cool, glad its free, enjoy!:)

So where do you buy 'defatted tvp' and how do you know the difference? Like other in thread I just buy dried soya chunks etc, or frozen soya mince. Is there a brand or supermarket that sells the defatted stuff anyone can give me a help with?

many thanks

Jane

You can buy them at Holland & Barrett or any health food shop. Ask if it's deferred before you buy just to be sure :)
