A woman Weight Watching and walking in Wales

I did have a thread on the general weight loss diaries however I have decided that I need more support than I was getting doing it on my own (although the support on here was fantastic of course:D) and so have joined WW.
So I have decided to move over and join this thread.
I lost 3lbs this week at my first WI so not too bad, I'm doing it with a friend and she's really dissapointed as she actually put 2lbs on, does anyone know if eating too much fruit can really have such a detrimental effect, I know that I ate a lot of fruit but she says that she ate loads.
I'm working nights and this has really not helped at all in my quest to lose weight, I only end up having one real meal, and then I just can't eat real food afterwards so this week instead of my normal chocolate (just for energy at 4am you understand) I have been eating fruit, but as a result I am nowhere near eating all my points, and it's difficult to determine what day it is that I'm eating my food on. Have decided to work my WW Days from 8am-8am as this is what time I finish work so I can include my entire working night into my 24hr period. Would love to hear if anyone has any better ideas???
Also trying to go swimming, although at the moment working 48hrs so a bit worn out, still managed to go twice last week but just haven't got there this week yet, not looking too good for the rest of the week either if I'm honest:D

Hey :) I know what you mean about working nights! I used to do nights and my weight used to go up and down and that 4 am low used to make me feel shocking!!

Good luck :)

Thanks guys, well here I am at that 4am time slot, and really trying not to fall asleep:snoopyhouse:
But I'm here with my grapes:D and trying to avoid the chocolate, unlike last night  when a whole bag of chocolate kinder mini eggs fell into my mouth:sign0007:
Didn't even bother trying to count how many points were in them, I knew I only had 20 weekly points left and they were almost definately a lot more than that, oh well we live and learn.
At least if I don't have a very good number on the scales I will know why.
But that being said I have been good other than that (well that and the tub of ice cream, but I did point that so...)
Well tomorrow is always another day, and one where I have the potential to be good, and hopefully the determination to carry it out:D

Well only week three and I've already fallen into the habit of not pointing everything, because I've been in work I have just been estimating due to the fcat that I've not been hitting any of my daily allowances anyway, however this means that when I do have something naughty I don't know how many points I have to play with:sigh:
I've just ordered the Tony Horton 10 minute training DVD's from ebay, saw them on an infomercial but they were a third of the price on ebay so I thought I would give them a go. Yet again I have promised myself that when they come I will do the daily DVD everyday for a month and see if it really does make a difference, the thing I find harder than anything else is motivation, I always seem to sabotage myself by not doing!!
I haven't been swimming now for over a week either, and I pay monthly so cost is not an excuse, but I am planning on going tomorrow, well make that later today. I'm off work for a few days but my sleep patern is still severely knocked out by working nights so here I am typing away on here at 3.40am.

Hi Joh2605

Dont envy you working nights . I seen my brother when he comes off three nights in a row and it is not pretty .:sigh:. It takes him at least 48 hrs to feel human again. It really messes with your sleeping pattern.

I have in WW for years and I remember a leader saying if you treat your day as 24 hrs and have your three meals and snacks as we all would on a normal day. i.e

I presume you sleep until 3-4 in the evening when you get home in the morning. Get up and have breakfast . Then before you go to work have dinner or put it on plate and nuke it later at work say 10-12 am and then have tea (ie sandwich, wrap ,beans on toast )at the 4am slump. How does that sound ?

I'm not being funny but have you looked into what time your pool opens? You could pop in on your way home. I know you're tired but you might find it helps you wind down from work, sleep better, take your mind off food and lastly get it out of the way for the day!
Just a thought
Good luck anyway

Hi :) here to follow x

Hi guys, thanks for your comments, well I've been working less, which is better for the diet, disasterous for the bank account but hey we can't have it all huh:D
I've just had Tony Hortons 10 minute trainer delivered so have decided to give it a go (I'll let you know later how it goes).
Weight is still steadily coming off lost 9 and a half lbs now, not bad in 5 weeks. Glad to say that so far I've lost every week, even if one week it was only a half lb, still going in the correct direction:D

I only have 4lbs to go before I hit my 5% target, so I'm looking forward to that, trying not to put too much pressure on myself so I'll be happy if I do that in 2 or 3 weeks.
I've got a big night out on saturday so going to try to put some points away for that but I'm not going to stress too much about it either, no point in changing my diet if it means I can't have the occasional splurge.
I'm also going away in a couple of weeks, more nervous about this one but as we're taking my OH's kids I plan on chasing them and maybe we'll go for lot's of walks and things like that to help combat any over eating that happens, we're going camping so it will be a lot of BBQ's and butties and takeaways.
Well I think I've rambled enough for now:D

U can do it :)xx
