Just thought I would share this. I have just been to the vets with my cat of 18 years to have her put to sleep :( - normally I would have headed straight home and for the biscuits, cakes etc to drown my sorrows however not today - 8 weeks into this diet, 3 stone lighter and so not going there..... how things have changed.

Oh I'm so sorry :-(
well done for not emotionally eating. That's very strong!! Xxxx

Sorry to hear about your cat. :(

Well done for staying strong and not using it as an excuse to binge. Very impressive under the circumstances. :)

Thanks both of you. I guess I have learnt a major lesson that it will not help if I pig out and I will feel grim afterwards - cant beleive I am saying that after being very overweight for years!!! I did the right thing for my cat - her quality of life was very poor and it was not fair on her.... Thanks again - Jo x

Aaaaaw really sorry about your cat......... but yes, well done for dealing with it without the empty solace of food xx

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. :(
But definitely well done on not giving in to emotional eating! Sounds like you've discovered some extra strength within you during this hard time.

Hi Jo so sorry to hear of your loss - but as you say it was the best thing for her. Well done for not caving in to food and all the guilt you would have had afterwards etc, and of course, though its never going to be a replacement - the fun and games of a new kitten will continue to help you keep your mind off food - just a thought :) xx

Hi Jo, so sorry that you have lost your cat, Im not a cat person its dogs with me but I know if anything happened to mine I would be so upset so really Well done on sticking with the diet, and go and get yourself off to the Cats protection League and give a little kitten a great home you deserve it xx

Poor kitty :(. But like you say, it was for the best. She reached a good old age and is no doubt chasing mice around in kitty heaven (along with my Amber that died last year). Hugs xx

Ah thanks everyone for your messages.. I am sitting enjoying my bar whilst typing this and cant beleive I have managed to stick with it today. Got to the point where I feel its not worth ruining all the hard work for the sake of eating something I shouldn't which is great, long may it last....

Jo xx

im sorry to hear about your cat :( but well done for sticking with it

Oh I am so sorry about your cat :( Not sure I would have been as strong as you in this situation. I really do applaud you for being so strong.

honey. My cat is almost 15, shes older than most of my children! I would be devestated ..so you have my total sympathies.
Good on you for being good with your food, it would have been a real blow for you after when you felt that the food didnt make you feel better.
